we are glad to have you. Tell us a little about yourself and your chickens.

Ronnie, I am sorry to hear about your loss. I hope your stepdaughter is alright. My prayers are with her and her family.

Al, the "cackling hens" as you so eloquently put it, were busy talking earlier. You guys just missed out on it.

to you Samantha. Let us know what you have and what you want. Maybe someone can help you out. This board is comprised on enablers.

I am so extremely bored this evening. We need some lively conversation to keep me entertained.

Matt, you might want to check with Les about what medication your hen might need

I did, he said to give her 3 cc's of OSU & stop signing the Boomer Sooner song to her in the morning and that should clear her right up

Hi srsmith69 - good to see another Tulsan on here!

Everyone is so friendly:) yayy:) maybe i will be a good mother to some chickens after all:) I am just looking for a good starter breed... lovely brown eggs... maybe some blue... i know more about building a good coop than about the chickens themselves...but... i have been reading up on chickens now for months and i think i am ready to bring some home:) I am currently in Oklahoma city for the day working on some frames for a art show...but.. i am so excited to show you all my coop.. i worked so hard on it:)!!

Do chickens like trees.... i have a tree in chicken run?

Early welcome to the funny farm. If your not currently addicted to poultry and incubating eggs, you will soon be. You will be running a bator in the dead of winter just to get your fix. There realy is no help from anyone here to help you stop the addiction, we only make it worse. Thats a warning all new Okie members deserve before getting too comfontable around here.

My two free range hens have progressed to sleeping on the same limb about 10ft up each nite now. Some of the heavier breeds cant fly well enough to get up into a taller tree though. If you want a variety of egg colour some easter eggers would work fine. I would find some from someone on here who has some with good temperment. If you where closer to Tahlequah I could get you bunch of full grown laying hens for 5$ a piece right now.

Speaking of bators, mine are still empty. I have resisted the urge to load them up. Oh wait, I just resisted the need to clean them up.
