countryroad I see where Claremore has a vet that can fix them where they can't crow for a $---.--. I got 17 silkies from Carla and I think we got 3 rooster and 14 pullets

I was thinking maybe 60% roosters when we got them.

thanks so much for the nice thoughts on us don.. it was great to meet you and ellen and we were glad to have you out.. wish the weather would have been a little friendlier too.. hope to see you guys again soon.. thanks again so very much..

mikarod, I'm raising a blue Silkie and white Sultan (pictures a page or two back.) But the Sultan seems to be looking like a roo... And I live in town now... So if crowing begins in the future, I will have to part with my babies.

coondog, I have heard! A member of our okie board took one of their roos to that Doc I believe. But I'm a newly wed college student, so $200 is not exactly an option.

But my hubby's been talking about maybe getting me a fancy mixed lot of eggs to hatch, and then keeping a couple hens. And when he shows any interest in the chickens, I have to go with it!

Very pretty Silkies by the way! My current Silkie is from Carla and Gerald, they have great birds!

I survived!! We must have walked a thousand miles. The lady I was with thought it was fun to do 3 laps around the Ford Center at every break and lunch. The conference was AWESOME!!! It ended up just me and one of my best friends in the room. Lotta people bailed at the last minute! Wasn't too bad. I forgot my stuffed chicken I sleep with... dang it.

We ate at the Melting Pot, Zios and Abuelos in Bricktown. Zios I would definately do again. The rest...maybe not. Hubby took care of the women while I was gone and all manged to survive... Stimpster you are a nut! The clucking thing would definately have set me apart from the rest!!

I'm thinking I might wanna go back next year... renting my own room though or taking one lady with me... but I will be in charge of the room. Never depend on anyone. The room ordeal ended up being a clusterflop, but we finally got it organized and the mall trip was brief (thank heavens... malls make me break out in a rash... especially during anything that looks like Christmas.

) Has anyone heard of Jay's or Joe's Ribs in Chickasha? I wanna go out there and see the lights and get some ribs closer to Christmas. I am beat to my boots.

See, I am still debating, I have had a chance to get silkies here and there, but never a sultan, I may just have to do it the old fashion was and get both. Seems to make the decision making easier when I do it that way.

Hey Hennie, Its Jakes Rib in Chickasha They are at 100 Ponderosa ph. 405-222-2825. They are on the s side of Chickasha and not to far from the park where the Christmas lights are. Go S on 81. One stop light S. of the Bailey on ramp to OKC. Go Left about 1 block and left again. I love the park at Christmas. Have fun when you go.

Gonna be warmer today Yea!!! later Cindy

Hey Henny! I live in Chickasha! And Jake's is pretty close to Atwoods, so you might have to stop in there and check out their chicken stuff. *ha* My mom went to that conference you were talking about. Zios is our favorite Bricktown restaraunt; its the only place I will eat when we go. That's where my hubby proposed to me last January.

I don't think the Festival of Light starts until maybe the day before Thanksgiving. Let me know if you do come around!
