White Peking duck -- Britannica Online EncyclopediaThe White Peking, originally from China, is the most widely used because it is meaty, fast growing, and prodigious in egg production

My Layena has gone down about 4.00 a bag here in Altus. But the scratch is the same... it hovers around 12.00 a bag. I have a farmer out here who would sell me milo really cheap... but getting our schedules together is not happening. None of our co-ops sell feed... it's weird here... chickenless... If I had a dang cow I could get anything... but say the word "chicken" and I get guffawed at. Dirty dogs... I wonder how funny life would be without eggs.

I think I am starting to pick up Big Al's luck today. I had to go to the eye docs to pick up my first pair of bifocals. Yay. Well they must not be the right prescription for me, because I ran over a Lexus getting out of the parking lot. And of course the lady was thrilled that I ran her car over.

And of course it couldn't be an old used pontiac... had to be a Lexus...I want to cry... between hubbies job and taking care of my mom and all the other stuff... I have just had it. nothing I do is right...alas... poor me. I'm gonna pour a glass of wine and go sit with the hens and have a pity party. Just me and Jesus.

Next time I will just tell you my day was just fantastic, so as not to run the risk of bad luck by association lol, I am sorry to here of your mis fortune, But I own bad luck, today was good so here have some yum yum yum. My BO chicks I got from Carla went into the big coop with the adult ladies without incident, all is good. My Roosters seem to be OK in their new Bachelor quarters. Here's a hug KT( ) ( ).

I'm sorry to bring everyone down, but yesterday my dad spent the day (and night) in the hospital. He's having some heart problems.
sad.png
So please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you.

Henny, I am SO sorry about your tough time! But if it makes you feel any better, I've needed bifocals since I was 14. Not kidding! My mother cried.

I wear contacts, so I break out the reading glasses for homework and BYC'ing.

So we all know a Lexus got crushed, but how's your car? I'm guessing it doesn't have a scratch!

I know how you're feeling though, I really do. But, things seem to get really crazy and overloaded, and then they just clear up! So hang in there, its about to get better!

Grace, thank you SO much for the offer! I know my babies would have a good home with you. They'd continue to be spoiled, that's for sure! *haha*

I remember when I first got my glasses as an adult ( mom didnt think I was blind she thought i was faking

) I walked out of the store fell off the curb and landed on the hood of a car that was not mine....

All of this in front of my new fiance.

We have been married 13 years and he still thinks he has to go with me to get new glasses in case I cant see

Personally I think he goes to laugh at me

Thanks for all the good thoughts fellow okie peeps... Country I am sorry to hear about your Dad...
hugs.gif
You got me and Mike's prayers for him to feel better soon... heart stuff is so scary.
I guess I'm over the whole bloody Lexus incident...(not)... it was just so lame. It's a weird parking lot... the way its put together like an L. And my truck was so high I couldn't see her slinky little sports car! And you are right Country, not a scratch on Moose! (Big Dodge 4x4) Both of us said that the way the parking lot is set up we had second thoughts about parking where we did. I wish I gad listened to my gut.

Hubby came home tonight with some kind of creeping crud. I told him I could give him a shot in the a-s of Tylan-50 or LA-200
lau.gif
He did not like that idea so he is stuck with Nyquil. Ahhh... fall...
Yeah Al... thanks for the hugs.. I appreciate it... you are a sweetie... Have ya tried my salsa recipe yet? I made some up for Mikey tonight...He claims it has magical healing powers. we'll see. what's your women been up to? (not hens) we need rain. My house is going to crack in half.

Well okie peeps... I'm off. Huddle with your sweeties and stay warm and safe tonight... That wind's got a real bite! (((okie peeps))) Love y'all.

OK funny story about eye doctors...............

Well my hubbie is the worst dresser anywhere I have to sit his clothes out for him if I want him to match and the kids as well. But before I started doing this I was getting really mad about the kids looking funny when dad dressed so finally one day I asked ( oK yelled ) are you color blind or something........... he said yes so I start to sit out outfits for everyone. One year later we are going for our eye exam same day same doc so we just go in together well guess my hubbie forgot about the color blind thing and when the doctor gave him the test passed it The doc say Well Charles you are not color blind and I said OH ! he's not !!! should have seen the sheepish look on hubb's face. I still set out all the clothes cause around here my kids are too cute but daddy dresses them funny.

That is too funny!!! I know a guy that bought a yellow truck. Everyone gave him such a hard time about it that he started telling them he only saw things in shades of gray, and thought it was white when he bought it.

Henny, I just knew you had a tank of a vehicle!
lol.png
My hubby's is too. I feel silly going to check cows in my little four door sedan. I call it the chicken transport; his vehicle moves cows, mine moves chickens.
lol.png

Thank you for the kind thoughts, its been scary. He's not that old, my little sister is still in high school. I told him he had to at least wait 10 years, because I'm not having kids until then. It made him laugh.

Crazychicken, that is so sad! Were you one of those people that couldn't believe how many leaves trees had when you got glasses? *ha* Does your hubby have to wear contacts or glasses?? Mine doesn't, he has 'beyond perfect vision.' (That's what the doc told him!) Makes me feel guilty, I just know our kids will have my terrible vision. *ha*

KT :

I hope you have found some time to smile today, Not yet on the salsa my garden mators are done for the yr, but I still have it. I hope Mike gets over the crude and you or your Mom don't catch it, the season for it is upon us. Laura has been out of commission these past few days, her back is giving her fits again, she told me she regrets having the surgery last yr, I just try to be there for her and encourage her, and help around the house, she hates not feeling good during the holiday season. I told her to go shopping that should make her feel better. Alyssa made me so proud today, she asked me if she could get a little part time job after school at a local horse training stable near our house, she is really good with horses and she is only 14, I don't know if I told you but she is a pretty competitive barrel racer since she was 8, so I will take her there tomorrow to do some fact checking, wish her luck she is so nervous, bless her little heart, she is such a good kid. weather has been pretty good here lately so I am getting alot of work done with my backlogged customers, and more work done here on the farm.

Country:

I hope your Dad get's to feeling better soon, just remember nothing makes a man feel better than to have his girls around looking after him, I will say a prayer for your family.

Carla :

Those BO chicks are doing great and seem to very hardy, they look great and are thriving, thanks again.
