I know what you mean...let's see $600 or so for fuel, who knows how much for speeding tickets and divorce attorney. Hey, I could go for a auction/Okie fix...is it worth it?!?!?!?!?

I hatched some button quail today. Cute little boogers. I have three so far out of 20 eggs.

Yes they do, but I always need what is in the middle back bottom, if you know what I mean. Nobody has added anymore recipes on the POOPS favorites. Maybe because Monty and Quenston ate all the good stuff before anybody else was able to get an opinion on it Al.

You guys all have a great weekend, and happy auctioning.

Pokes! Thanks so much for posting pictures of your button quail. I see people posting about them, but I've never seen any, so this helps me know how big, I mean really tiny, they are. How big do they get? And what do you do with them?

My five weeks old Buttons are the same size as the one week old EE chicks if that helps you figure out how big they get. I don't think they get much bigger. I have no clue what they are good for, but my cat likes chasing them when they fly out of the brooder. My cat is three years old and never hurts anything. He just follows them around and sniffs. Sometimes he licks them but mostly hisses. I don't haveany worries with my inside cats hurting the babies. Theoutside cats are a totally different story. They definately know not to mess with the outside birds though.

How long do button quail live? Are they all different colors as adults? Do they lay lots of eggs and go broody and hatch them? (sorry for all the questions - I know I should go over to the quail forum and search...)

I really have no clue. I got the eggs when I ordered Coturnix quail eggs. The seller offered them at $2.00 for a dozen and I thought, why not. We got the Coturnix for butchering and breeding. I had a few different colored babies but ened up with only three left and they are all the same color. They were the three that were all yellow as babies, so I have no clue about adult coloration.
