you are very fortunate to have ignored the doctor's laughter and insisted that something was wrong. Glad you went to the ER.

Well, I didn't have a whole of choice about going to the ER. I was unconscious and clinically dead when the ambulance arrived. The only reason I survived was because my wife and an off-duty firefighter were working on me while they for the ambulance attendees to arrive and jumpstart me.

My problem was that I did listen to the first cardiologist's laughter and didn't get a second opinion, which led to my subsequent heart attack.

Which is the whole point of my story.

I know...I'm trying...it just seems to me that she isn't!! She was just in the hospital with pneumonia... and now she is outside in 40 degree weather smoking like a furnace....She only gets 50.00 a month from DHS... and her cigs cost me 68.00...

So I feel like I'm paying to kill her off....I feel like I need air...Like I'm being choked to death....Mike says I have been worse since she was in the hospital...DUH!!! She expects me to be able to fix everything....I can't fix anything....

We will pray for you and everyone know that he can fix everything

Oh Henny....my heart goes out to you. My dad was a heavy smoker and it just broke our hearts to see him litteraly smoking himself to death. He got COPD and went cold turkey after smoking for 71 years. It is a horrible addiction. I don't know what I would do...I understand you feeling like you're killing her. But look at it this way...you're not making the decision for her. She would find someone to buy them....she's making the decision. She has to want to live bad enough to quit smoking. If not she'll have to suffer the results from it. I know you will too....I'd be so angry.

You do all that you do and she just keeps doing things that make herself worse. It's a catch 22. Just always do your best....and have no regrets. You'll do fine.

Henny....do you have any family that can help. It was SOOO hard for me to let anyone else take over just long enough for us to go out to dinner and get an evening out. But is sure helped when I did. I have 2 sisters and 1 brother but I was the one that always did everything. Mom wanted me to anyway...I never made her feel like she was imposing. I may have been fuming

at times when she got demanding or hateful but I'd just keep on smiling and scream when I was away from her. LOL

Try to get someone to help to regain some sanity.

She has certainly said she was. I don't remember a thing.

It happened in a church parking lot. I'm laying on my back trying to breathe and the pastor and assistant pastor are leaning over me with very grave expressions. Pastor says, "Call on the name of the Lord, son," and I remember thinking "Well, that can't be good."

But, I did and the next thing I remember was hearing myself crack jokes to a roomful of family and medical personnel the following afternoon. My wife says she wished she had a recording, because it was some of my best material ever. Even the doctors and nurses were laughing.

But yeah, it was pretty traumatic for her. She's the best. I owe her my life.

Literally.

Grace - Won't be any problem for you. You have handled your birds and they
are comfortable with you. Basically, all you're doing is standing your bird on
the table, controlling your bird, trying to get your bird to show itself off. The
judge may take your bird and look it over and then hand it back to you to
re-stand on the table. The problem arises when people that don't mess with
their birds end up at a table show and the birds are scarred to death and
won't cooperate, or want to squat down on the table....LOL Kendra is real
good at watching the judge, and when they aren't looking, poking her
bird in the rear to make it stand up.........LOL

One thing that we wish they would do at these table shows is put a runner
of rubber mat or carpet on the tables. A lot of times, the slick table top
scares the birds and they are afraid they'll lose their balance and get all
flustered. But, on the other hand, in the event a bird potties, they are able
to get it wiped up before another bird steps in it........LOL

The "big" plus to these table shows is that the kids and the judge actually
interact and the judge will talk to them about the pluses and minuses of
their birds as well as their efforts and performance. The kids learn a lot.
Kendra and TJ have gotten it from both sides.........LOL

See ya Saturday !

Just spent the last 3 hrs in the kitchen processing potatos for freezing, did 50 lbs in various ways, french fries, hash browns, diced, and large cubed. they are in the freezer now chilling before being put in the vacum bags for the long haul. Oh and did 50 ears of sweet corn as well, they are freezing too. I will do the other 50 lbs next week.
