Evening all : Been a tad busy today with life and things and football.

Teach : so what exactly happened, it sounds like they are saying some of your birds ( Ducks ) were stolen at the sale barn ???. Dang what is the world coming to

I had a good time visiting with all my old bud's at the auction last night, Carla & Gerald, it was good to see you guy's again at the circut LOL, tell Gerald That I was glad he saw fit to come good job Carla. Monty of course and Teach Shidalgo (shawn) good to finnaly meet you hope the trip and the sale were a good time for you. Stimpy!!!!! I didn't see you & Lou what's the deal, missed you guy's. Of course seeing KT (Henny's) & Hubster Mike was great to see you guy's out and amoung the living

. Jim was a trooper and brought his DW although they were really tired they made the trip . Mike Daugherty good to see you again, I would have liked to take those banty's but alas no room. And Many of may not have known GB1 was also there, we had a nice long visit, he's a Cornish man as well from Cement and will be holding a Poultry show in Jan.

Yea it was nice lots & lots of birds even bought some myself Foo-Foo's of course for my DW & DD, It was funny watching Marybeth & I searching high and low for the oldest Rooster in the whole bldg for her friend, we finnaly found one with 2" spurs and old as dirt so she was happy

, and wouldnt you know it they ran the Price up on her, wait till I catch that guy

Yes like most of you, I had started getting a headache listening to that auctioneer on steroids ( Jerry if you read this, start selling tylenol LOL ). We never did get to make any dinner plans as the auction ended late and you can't bring kids into a Casino, boy was I hungry when I got home.

The guineas that Teach and I bought ranged from $1.75 for the younger ones in the 9 hole cage to $2.50 for the ones that were a few months old. Yes, way cheap. As a buyer, I was more than pleased - particularly since I bought some this spring as day olds for $2.50 - $3.00 and had a 50% mortality rate on them. I took them all to a friend of mine - since I still have guinea eggs in the incubator and about 15 adult guineas running around (and up and down the outside of the fence and into traffic)

It was awesome to get to meet Maribeth!! She's such a sweet person!! The kids and I had a lot of fun checking out all the critters! I think my favorites were the runner ducks and the Tom Turkey that likes to be petted

and the Male Pheasant! He was gorgeous!!!

What a small world that you and Okiemommy knew each other long before becoming chicken addicts. Now that I have met both of you, I have to say that ya'll must have had a very bright and talented graduating class.

Glad you got your coop moved from J's house to your house - and that no one was injured in the process. Now, it is time to start filling up the coop.

You got a good deal on guineas. I paid $4.69 for each of mine. I bought 6 last Spring and another 12 this Fall. All I could get in the Spring was Pearl, but I found Lavender, White and Pearl this Fall. I like my guineas. I think they are cute, but obnoxious.

And I think I got some of GB1's birds out in one of my tractors. Real beauties, those. I think they are Bantams, though, and I was planning on mixing them with my Dark Cornish from Ideal to mix up the blood a little.

Okiemommy - the fact that you were able and willing to get your grades up in 10, 11 and 12 grades speaks volumes for your character. You are bright and no quitter.
It is always fun to see the animals again through the eyes of children who have not been around the various varieties.

Al, I still have Mr. rooster on hormones. I was too tired today to even make a call and get him picked up. I guess I was too obvious about wanting that old bird, although that emaciated but tall Buff Orphington went above $10 and then got POd because the owner wanted at least $15 for him.

It just started raining. Fortunately, I got a cover on the top of the newest rabbit's cages just a little while ago.
