Don good to see you!!!

Buster (or anyone) My question: Look this post over and tell first if this would be a fire danger and how hot will it get using the larger tin with a 25watt???? Sorry if this is stupid but it is something I can make myself.

You can use the ends of those heavy black rubber snubbers the kind the truckers use..Just cut them down to about 5 inches and ajust to fit the hole in the tub..seems to work OK..and much cheaper than the rubber fingers

Don,

What are rubber snubbers? I mean, I know exactly what they are but why don't you explain them for those that don't know.

-Stimp-

They are the things that hold tarps down on trucks, Not the things that you tie around your ankles and jump off of bridges..

Does that make sense

thats all I know about them

These are what the guy cut in half to make the rubber fingers for his drill plucker I pictured earlier in response to Q.

Hey Steph, you could use some of the gro gel to provide them with food and hydration in transit, just in case. I've seen it for a couple of buck for 100 chick dose.

I really have no clue, they were extra eggs in a split dozen BR/Delaware. Both are feather footed and siver-laced; Bond is definite bantam black comb/wattles/legs, Mink is more reddish comb/wattles with black legs and slightly larger but probably still bantam. What do you guys think they are?

On the water heaters, as long as you don't use too high wattage of a bulb, no fire hazard because heat rises into the water. An electrocution hazard maybe, if they get wet.

Hubby is looking at coop plans. I didn't want to get chickens until I had a perfect home for them. I saw a coyote in my back yard a few weeks ago, so I know I've got to make the coop pred. proof.

My thinking is make a great coop this fall/winter and get babies in teh spring. I hate when people get animals without thinking how happy they will be in their new home.

You may be to advance and forward thinking for this group (just kidding) because I know that I'm not the only one on here making room/pens from springs hatches.

Anyway, there might be an enabler or 2 (read a couple of hundred) that might be of some assistance in the spring.
