I really have no idea. If Al or someone doesn't have a good answer for you I can research it, though.

Being's I'm a professional information gofer and all.

LOL sorry I can see if I can reserch it, I just don't know where to start.

No, really! Finding information for people is what I do for a living as a reference librarian. Cammie tagged me an information gofer and I have adopted it as my official title. Thinking of even putting it on my business card next time they are reprinted.

So, let me know if you need help finding that info.

How were they packaged? any food or water with them?

No, no food or water packed with them. That's the first thing I did when they arrived but they didn't seem in any distress. I kept them in segregated from the rest of the flock for about 3 weeks then just turned them out with the rest of the birds.

I've heard of people putting slices of apple or grapes in the box with the chickens when they ship older birds to provides a little liquid and nourishment while in-transit. I sure bet that container doesn't smell too good when you finally get it!

Actually, there's no smell unless they just put an obscene amount of sliced fruit in the box or there wasn't enough bedding to absorb the droppings. I've received adult fowl via the USPS and they either ate most of the apple slice or hardly touched it.

Hmmm....I never thought about what I liked better or what "type" of Allman Bros fan I am. Whipping Post is my favorite song of theirs...but I like Sweet Melissa, too. Dang it - I'll have to research that now so I can fit myself definitively into a type. Guess housecleaning will just have to be put off for another day!

Hello all.

I'm so upset. I was just about home when a guy let two dogs out. I was meeting a pickup and both dogs came running into the road. I stopped and the other guy keep driving forward slowly. I watched him roll over that poor little house dog. I'm sick to my stomach. If you know something is close to your wheels and they disappear from your sight, why keep moving your vehicle. I know big trucks have lots of blind spots but that was someones pet who was standing on the porch and saw it happen.

Sorry that those poor dogs didn't know enough to stay out of the road and that you had to watch one be injured.

Our son doesn't have a fence in his front yard and lost a couple of puppies to the street when they would bolt out of the front door. He now has his dog in a completely fenced back yard and the kids know not to allow the dog out the front door under any circumstances.

That happened to me once...I was 13 and traumatized by it. A guy was driving his hotrod up and down our street at a gazzion mph....He was older too...Like 30's...old enough to know better...and he ran over my neighbor's weenie...It was horrible..I was hysterical. The dad was tough, he came and picked it up out of the road and everything ...I was seriously grossed out....I wanted to do physical harm. My neighbor, she was like 11... was devastated
