So, what is everyone doing this weekend to prepare their chicken's accomodations for colder weather? I don't plan to do anything special - they wear feathered coats

I might start giving them some cracked corn in the evening to help them stay warm from the inside out at night.

I've been giving mine corn for a week now. They actually found it on their own and started helping themselves. I went ahead and mixed it with their food, along with some BOSS. I got a huge Rubbermaid trash can of feed mixed up. That should last a week or two. I don't plan on doing anything special either. I figure that if they are stong enoug to survive then thay can stay. I don't want any weak birds. Their coop is protected from the harsh North wind. I do need to get the window coverings completed, but they are on the South side of the coop.

No, but is your's changing colors? My male is getting a dark grey head. The girls are still buff.

Luvs ---That is sure a cutie you have there. I'm a push over when it comes to the babys! I go to my daughters day care just so I can rock and play with the little ones everyonce in a while. She has 9 under a year! 45 for a total counting the preschoolers. Like I said ,I go "every once in while". Can't handle it to often!Lol.

Cleo,the budepaest are one of the smallest breeds of pigeons. Not for sure if they are a performing breed or not,everyone I know that has them has piad to much for them to risk flying!lol. They are an old breed but have made a big come back in the last couple of years. If he is giving them to you it is a great deal! Good luck with them.

Evening everyone.

I stayed outside for alittle while, finished my feeder for one of the pens and started gathering stuff for the water heater. I will need to figure something out for two pens & that seems cheap enough.

Buster that makes two of us I am going to do 10 this weekend the rest I am gonna let them continue to make me breakfast and of course I will leave the DW babies alone!!!
