Well its just too cold and damp here so I had to take all the broody hes babys away and put them in the brooder with some heat. Maybe they'll do better no. Boy I have way to young birds,my feed bill has doubled since spring.
I sold the guinea pigs I got at the auction . I paid $3.50 for all 7 and sold them for $30 for all seven. Yeah more mad money to take to the pigeon show this weekend

You guys be careful feeding that "cracked" corn to the clucks. I always heard that was a no-no./ Corn chops or ground corn but not cracked. Maybe Dr. Les can enlighten us.

Mine started eating it when they were 6 wks. old. Only time they didn't have any was when it got really hot during the summer. I haven't had any problems with them. It is cracked distillers corn. It is actually for the cattle but the birds won't stay out of it.

Hey Charley - no, haven't found it locally. Poultryand bees was kind enough to bring some to me at the spring POOPS.

City I can get it up here and we are going to start some christmas shopping in your area so if you come to the time that you need more I can pick it up here and bring it to you when we come!! We will let you know when we head that way and maybe we can get a group together and have a BYC dinner!!!

I had one but needed another, had the stuff just hadn't got it done. Now it is, thinking this weekend I might re-arrange that coop to make more room for the feeder inside.

I have been gettting ready for winter for a while now. So far I have covered all the opening on the new coop. Shut the windows & lower doors in the main coop, all that has to be done for that one. Put a front on the newest coop, it was open to the south, hubby made a cool lift type door that in the summer I can completely open it to clean it out since it is smaller. The third one is the one that I need to re-arrange. Besides making at least two of the heated water bases (cookie tin one's) I should be done.

I am working on making a place for the chicks that Madison won in the raffle outside.

I am always up for a good meal. lol

I think that it would be great for us in this area to get together once in a while.

You might call Farmer's Feed store in Sapulpa. Is that local enough for you?

What would you use??

I was going to use some old heating elements but they are to big so I will probably stick with the light bulb idea I just worry about the tins getting to hot

It would NOT conflict with Halloween ... it's Saturday morning!

I wish we could go too, but it's too far away

Gerald and I need to move a whole lot of birds around this weekend anyway. No auction for us this weekend.

We have too much football to watch this weekend. First, we have the Tuttle Tigers football game on Friday night ... then .... doesn't the OSU cowboys have a televised game this weekend? My neighbor's boy plays for OSU (Cooper Bassett, #89, Freshman, tight end, 6'5", 250 lbs & caught a touchdown pass last week! Oh, and handsome young thing too!) so I guess we need to start routing for the cowboys.
