Good morning Tara, Clucks, Donna, Sooner, Q, P&B, Jeannie, and everyone else that I missed. Wow, did someone leave the door open? It's freezing here.

Q, I ordered some leg bands from Poutryman's Supply and got them the same week. I was pretty happy with them.

Shawn, I might have to have you guide me one of these days. At least I can hit what I shoot at, so that's a plus. Right?

Hey Jeannie. I hope you guys have a great holiday. I like pie, you know, if you have too many.

Donna, there ain't a herd of anything in the world that's worth $300 a month to feed.

I'm just sayin'

I think my desire to get birds out of the house will help me overcome my insane desire to hatch more chicks - but I sure hope I don't see a whole dozen wheaten marans for a really cheap price.

It would be nice to get chickens out of the house until after the holidays, wouldn't it? I'm doomed .... just added more eggs to the incubator today. I have an enabler that lives with me though ... he put more eggs in after I did

The rest of the eggs are going to Blanchard on Saturday!!! Or, I might try posting some on the BYC auction thread.

Carla:

Do you have any Cream Brabanter eggs? I've got some young birds that I'd like to breed next spring. I don't want related parent stock. My eggs were from a breeder in PA.

Next winter we won't have to pay for hay either, and we aren't paying much for it now, thank heavens. We are just working very hard to try to put some weight on the daughter's mare. She's so thin that we've been reported to the Sheriff's department for starving her. The same deputy came out both times, and griped about people not knowing what they are looking at and wishing they would mind their own business. The mare had put on weight between his visits, so he knows we're feeding her. (He even asked us if we could take in a couple of seized horses because he liked our feed program - but we just don't have the $$). Daughter's horse is just a real hard keeper, and stupid SIL left her nursing a colt until he was 15 months old 'cause he thought it was cute.

Stimpy - who's Donna? Now I have that stupid song stuck in my head!

That is terrible! We had something simular with a horse we got from an older man that wouldn't let his kids sell the horses that they couldn't take care of for him. The mare was skin & bones for the colt nursing & running her to death. It was so sad.

I am glad you are getting her back in shape. Sounds like you know what you are doing. I do have to say I would rather someone call the sheriff when they see a horse not being cared for. He should appreciate it too considering he can't be everywhere and in the hard times that so many face the animals are the one's getting neglected first.

Well it is not built right to be show quality. The specs are all wrong.

Monty:

Here are a few pictures of the Welsummers I bought from you at POOPS. They are no longer chicks. Aren't they a handsome bunch?

Poco Pollo

Poco, It was hard for me to keep everything straight in the chicks I hatched for POOPS. The one with green legs is probably a Campine cross. When you get time try and get a close up shot of her. There were also some Gold Salman Marans that hatched in that batch. Sorry you got something mixed in with the Wellies.

Morning all!

Waiting on the wife to get home from work so we can take off to North Carolina. Have all the critters taken care of,truck packed and just waiting. I'm not at waiting!Lol.

Those cream barbanters are pretty. I was looking at the spitz and barbanter thread. I may have to hit carla up min the spring for some eggs!

Talk about starving horses, the local rescues took 84 horses off a farm here in tn. yesterday. Some were in very bad shape. They opened up the state fairgrounds as a Mash Hospital for the horses. Several died on the way there. Thats a lot of horses!

Well hope everyone gets their deer this week and gets full of turkey! Seems everyone is treying hard to fight this" turn off incubator virus" that is going round. Hope it doesn't attack to many of us!lol I've got two great stryroam boxes that I want to make incubators out of. Just got to find me someone more electrically inclined than I an to figure out how to do it.

You all have Great Thanksgiving
