Deputy is coming back by on Friday - he's using the excuse of checking on the mare - but I think he's actually more interest in the deer stand down by the pond!

My mom's family does that - but they use buttermilk instead of sweet milk. I love to use buttermilk for biscuits and pancakes and such, but I just can't stand the thought of drinking it!

Henny- John will be soooo proud of you buying his mushrooms. AND I thank you too! It sure helps pay the bills

I made tater tot casserole tonight and topped with sauted fresh J-M shrooms!
I make my sweet tater casserole with cinammon, nutmeg in the taters and topped with brown sugar, butter and pecans

Stimpy- Sorry the cranberry salad has jello in it. Bute is mostly to glue it together.
It has......
2 cups of cranberries (fresh out of the bag kind)
1 cup of sugar
1 pkg of wild strawberry( or cherry) jello
1 1/2 cup of water
1 small can of crushed pineapple
1 tart apple (i use granny smith( peeled and diced
1/2 - 1 cup of nuts ( i use peacans)

Cook cranberries in water ( at a low boil) for 10 min.
Add sugar ( I bet spenda could be used) and gelatin. Stir well until dissolved.
Add pineapple, apples, and nuts.
Chill overnight stirring occasionally.

I am REAL funny about textures AND stuff IN jell-o BUT this is SOOOOO good!

We used to feed her lots of sweet feed - along with free choice hay. Not only did she not gain weight, she lost it, and had a really bad attitude. We switched over to alfalfa pellets and beet pulp and she started gaining weight and her attitude improved a lot. Now that the weather is getting colder, we've added some crimped oats as well. We're feeding the same thing to the rest of our horses. I bought a paint gelding this summer that was a bit on the thin side. His pasture mate (yeah, bought her too - she's in my avatar) ate all her food and then ran him off and ate his too. He's responded VERY well to the oddball diet.

I bought a blanket for her at the local horse auction for $10 for the cold weather. That way she won't burn quite so many calories trying to stay warm. It's funny (not in a good way) to see such a skinny horse when our other horses are so NOT skinny!

I've seen my BIL put chocolate cake in a glass and pour milk over it. Nasty!

But I do like a little buttermilk now and again.

My SIL got three so far - they are already in his families' freezer. I told him he'd better give me some of the steaks or I'm gonna rat him out!

He cheats - he got tags under his name and tags under my oldest daughter's name. She can't hunt anymore because of her Lupus - the cold weather is agonizing for her. He hunts for her. The third one - well, we just turn a blind eye - we are so over run with deer around here it's not even funny. I nearly hit two on my way to work this morning, and that was before I even got to the highway!

The Expo Center is over on Hwy 177 - on the western side of Shawnee. I don't think there even are any hotels over there. I don't get over there much, so I could be wrong.

There are LOTS of hotels right off of exit 186 on I-40. The old Holiday in is there - but it's got a different name. I don't pay much attention to it these days. There's a La Quinta there, too, right behind the Denny's.

There's a Holiday Inn Express over by the Walmart SuperCenter behind the little strip mall, and a Hampton Inn on the south side of I-40, close to Cracker Barrel and IHOP.

All of them are only about 10 minutes away from the Exp center, I think.

Oh! Almost forgot! There's another little hotel about a half mile south of I-40 and another one about a half mile north. The one to the north is closer to the Sac & Fox casino!

Plain ol dee I found the Motel 6 just north of I-40 so we will probably stay there it looks as though it is about 3 miles from the expo center.

It doen't sound like an oddball diet to me!

I had an OTT Appy that was rail thin and I soaked beat pulp for him.
I have also used Black Oil Sunflower Seeds and Flax seeds as a top dressing for added fat. You can also use Corn oil as a top dressing for addtional calories and fat, however my horses do NOT like it. They like the crunchy little seeds.

Right now all we have is very plump pasture ornaments. A VERY aged molly mule(35+), an aged gelding(23+), a 8 yr old medicine hat paint mare and a 5 yr old bay roan mare. I am considering sending the 5 yr old to a friends handicap riding facility. She is being wasted here.

The goats LOVE the Black Oil Sunflower Seeds too! And it makes the SOOOOO pretty.
