Lauren's surgery is next Wednesday. Today was just a pre-surgery checkup.

Thanks for clarifying that for me Shavon - I'll be thinking of you both next week! And I'm sorry for the wasted trip - why do they do that to people?

Hey Dee sorry I am a sssslllooowwww typer and just read your post!
We had a broodmare that had a very sway back and a skinny rump and looked awful from just being pregnant for all of her life.
We bought her late in her life and had 2 fillie out of her and then retired her so she could live out her life in restful peace.

Neecy!!! Good to see you girl! Hope you have a happy thanksgiving!!! She is my last grandparent, we use to lay in bed to read the papers when I was a kid. I read the funnies and she read the boring stuff. LOL. Still to this day we laugh about that.

Q forgot to answer about the broody. The only way I know to break them is to put them in a wire cage. I have done this with a couple of hens.

Dee didn't mean any offense.

I have an obscure tune called "Did You Go Downtown?" by an equally obscure group called The Joy Of Cooking, running through my head.

That grittiness is exactly why I can't stand cornbread too.

Neecy! It's good to see you. Are you having people at your place for Thanksgiving, or are you going to someone else's house tomorrow? My mother LOVES cranberry salad and always makes a big batch at Thanksgiving.

I made tabouli today (yes, it is the only thing I know how to make!) and no-bake chocolate oatmeal cookies. Jack just came over and loaded it all up to take with him on his family's traditional Christmas trip to Eureka Springs tomorrow. This will be the first year since 2004 that I haven't gone, too - I have to work tomorrow and Friday, so I will be home alone this year. We had Thanksgiving dinner last Saturday in OKC at my stepsister's house. My Mom & Tom from TX came up and it was a good day.

Neecy... I have been suppporting your establishment!! Been buying lots of shrooms recently... I love a ton of them in chicken soup!! J&M Woo-Hoo!

I am going to try my hand at cornbread stuffng this year...usually do regular with raisins...This year going out on a limb...trying something different. Oh! And I got the cranberries with the actual berries... not the jellied....I was raised on the jellied...but really like it better with the berries. I make pecan praline yams too....with brown sugar and pecans and coconut....

I bet Stimp doen't like coconut either!

EXACTLY!!

Sooner-I eat white bread with by beans, it is the ONLY time I eat white bread.

City- We are headed off to John's sisters house tomorrow!! YEAH that means MY house doesn't have to start out spotless, get trashed and then have me trying to put it back in some kind order.

Interesting~never liked white bread with beans. My grandpa use to have cornbread with beans then take the cold cornbread & break it up and put milk over it! Now that was gross looking and I didn't like it.

Brown beans, cornbread & fried taters. Yummy.
