Do you think your mom could give me and my friend 7mm a tour?
I would mainly be interested in how the Santa Gertrudis cattle were developed , but as long as I am there...............

My folks live on a ranch north of Henryetta (Wilson) My brother lives in that area as well,

I still have a lot of friends and family around there.

BuckGuy...you laugh but my mom runs the tourism department for the ranch! She isn't a half bad game guide either...I have used her as a ph before

On a couple different occasions I have seen Gert calves that upon second look turned into huge hogs! Wasn't able to get shots off

MAN, I don't check in for a couple of days and you guys go all chatty!!

Welcome to all of the new Okies!!

I am so egg-cited about the get together. Even if it is my weekend to work I will trade!! We have deer we could bring, I also have beef and pork ribs!
I even made fresh apple pie over on open fire ( try that sometime )

I have made apple pie, cherry pie, cornbread and biscuts. I love dutch oven cooking!! When we use to go camping all the time ( before the kiddos sports ) I was the "chef"!

This is wy you should always get the trophy package when you hunt

I am not laughing I was dead serious. If she can take me on a tour. I will be there if I have to ride a unicycle.

GreAt pics of the Nilgai. I have seen them being hunted on tv.
I used to have a fried that guided on part of the Kenedy ranch. It was called something else though. Something safari. Anyway I was supposed to get to go down and maybe hunt a Nilgai but then he changed jobs. I haven''t seen him in years so I missed my chance.
I'd like to throw one of those hindquarters in the smoker.

How did the guy dress out to be 300 lbs when he weighed 230 lbs to begin with?

Grace, I introduced your roo to my hens this tomorrow. It went PERFECT! He's pretty. And everyone is getting along very well. They all act like he's been there a while. Thanks again.

I got a trio of White Cochin (Pekin) Bantams. They are happy too. Now I have true banties to show!

Ok, Here are some thoughts and early plans for the
Okie meeting of the minds.
We are shooting for the second weekend in April.
I have talked to some of our group and we basically have two directions to go right now.
One is to do a lake thing at Lake Thunderbird which is just East of Norman. This would be a basic meet and eat and visit.
There are areas to rent which are set up for groups like ours.
A shelter area with a private swimming area and closed off to the general public. There are only 3 rv sites available in these areas, but there are other sites readily available nearby.
This is a state park so state park rules apply.
One rule concerning alcohol is that only 3.2 beer is allowed.
Our big concern here is if we are bringing chickens. I am awaiting word to find out if fowl would be allowed in the park.
Other than that, it looks like a great opportunity to get together for food, fun and fellowship.
The other direction would be to have this at the Blanchard auction site. This is a school owned building. We still don't know if we can use this site for the function and if so, with it being on school property i am sure no alcohol or beer. Plus places to stay right in Blanchard would be limited.

I have to leave for a Dr.'s appointment so I will continue this when I return. In the meantime, any thoughts are appreciated.
Monty
