Teach, you are the best

Monty, that would be neat to have it on the same day as the auction, if we do it at Blanchard!
If not Blanchard, we might should try for another poultry auction site.... There is, of course, one down here, but it is probably too far for most Okies...

Queen, I am not Carla, but I can give you my answers to those questions

My Spitz is a bit flighty, but once you get a hold of her, she relaxes

And, she lays every day!

Sherri, I'm so glad the incubation is off to a good start

Oh, the EE rooster is not mean at all, in fact that is his only problem - being lowest on the rooster pecking order. If I don't hear back from you, I will go ahead and bring him

bigokie37, I am still interested in those Muscovies... would you be interested in a trade for LF crossbreeds? That and hatching eggs are all I have to offer right now.

pepper, the Turn x6 is a very cool incubator

Al, oh yes, do bring that Italian sausage

Monty, sure I'll try to work up a "Welcome Okies" smilie.

We are trying to catch up to TN's thread!

I just put plates on my Winnebago so I'm up for an overnighter!

Grace, I will give your roo a good home. He will have 8 hens so I think that might make him happy and probably the hens too. And, I think I may have located a roo for my Maran today. He's a Texan but I'm not holding that against him!

I'm so happy. My chicken world is coming together!

Let's get a date set on this fiasco. As Grace had suggested if we did it in Durant for the poultry auction, I'm sure the auctioneer would allow everyone to come early and have our festivities there.

...Provided we let him eat Italian Sausages of course!

We also have Lake Texoma too.

But I will enjoy it where ever it is held.

:eek:An auction site would be great as suggested before. If we had let over birds we could sell them there or in my case buy more! The DH would kill me but hey it's worth it. I've offered to bring some desserts and some drinks. I make a mean jug of tea but I don't know many people who can stand it! It'll make your hair stand up!!

Hey everyone, there's a GQF cabinet incubator on the Oklahoma City craigslist http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/grd/1017923582.html

It
looks like the one I have, even with the plexiglass door (which I recommend so you can stare at the eggs each day). I guess it could be an older model. I just love mine!

Queen Scoot, I love my Spitzhauben. If I had to downsize to just 2 breeds, it would be Spitzhauben and Marans. I've never had a mean Spitz rooster and every time I go in their pen, I'm surrounded by them. They're very inquisitive. Plus, they are rare in America, so most of the time I sell hatching eggs or hatch them myself. Very few of my Spitz eggs get eaten ... I want more people to raise them.

As for our Okie get-together, I guess I could bake a cake or some cookies or something else sweet. Gerald likes to make a fresh fruit salad with marshmallows & whipped cream ... mmmmm mmmmm good!

Thanks to all who welcomed me! I saw some other folks from the panhandle on here...my dad's from Beaver and my mom's from Hooker and I've heard all the jokes you can think of about that. I graduated from the metropolis of Tyrone. (hi Teach97 - we're probably related somehow.)

Share my life with one very patient boyfriend, 3 cats, and 1 JRT (who's not allowed to even LOOK at the clucks). Soon to have a small city flock of BA, BO, BR and RIR peeps, if all goes as planned...and doesn't it always?

I like this group!

I am excited to be back in the egg laying chicken business again. Yesterday, I acquired about 20 hens and a rooster with a lovely voice from a lady who raised them from day olds, but is moving. Hearing that rooster today was music to my ears. I can hardly wait for the crowing contests with the other roosters in the neighborhood to begin.

cityclucks - sorry but I am not a native to this land! I have been out here for about 12 yrs. I did my student teaching in Beaver and am taking classes at Tyrone from SWOSU...whose your mom we go to the Methodist church.

KInda looks like we might have a shing dig coming together
