Well I got chickens moved from a growing pen to the big coop and all the BBS Orps,Nekkid Necks, and Silkies moved out to a brooder in the shop. Wife was so happy you think i bought her something special instead of just taking chickies out of the front room.

I spent most of my day digging holes for addition to our barn, by hand.

Dug the holes, placed the poles and got everything aligned.

Friend told me that he has an auger, after I finished. Great timing.

My arms feel like Jello.

OK, OK, I'm lost. Someone recently told me that Chubbs was Choato and then someone told me that Chubbs was Inola.

Where the heck is Chubbs? Is there a list that tells which auction goes by what name and where the heck are they located?

Hi, sjarvis. I have done several batches and have been reading up on it the past 8 months. Some batches did well, and some not so well. So, I think I am probably ready for this book. I am borrowing it through my library just to read, but I also have free photocopy privileges, so you might say I ordered it for myself.

Its 9.40 milo is 6.10 an corn 7.20 a 100lbs or some wer around that . Calvin said scratch grain was like 10 or 11 for 50lb bag in Spencer.

I don't remember exactly but I paid around $7 or $8 for a 50lb bag of scratch from Tractor and supply in Stillwater. If you buy in bulk, which only takes 20 bags and it can be a mix of different types of feed, they give you a 10% discount too. I have bought 5 bags of starter and 10 bags of layer and 10 bags of scratch and got the bulk discount of 10%. I think they would have also included bags of dog food as part of the 20 too or rabbit food or what have you, but I am not for certain on that. I will have to ask next time. Oh speaking of rabbit food, I have a friend who feeds her chickens rabbit food, has anybody else heard of this.

Like Graceful's chickens, my chickens eat any rabbit food spilled from the hutches when I have the rabbits in the chicken yard. I have accidently poured a bag of rabbit food into the barrel for chicken food, because when I am using Red River brand for both rabbits and chickens there aren't any pictures on the bag and if I don't read - the two feeds look so much alike it is hard to tell them apart - the chickens didn't mind eating 50lbs of rabbit food but I try not to do that very often since rabbit food is more expensive than 20% layer pellets.
