Hi, sjarvis. I have done several batches and have been reading up on it the past 8 months. Some batches did well, and some not so well. So, I think I am probably ready for this book. I am borrowing it through my library just to read, but I also have free photocopy privileges, so you might say I ordered it for myself.

It has lots of charts for humidity and temps on different incubators (comes in real handy). I think you will enjoy it. It also talks about the difference in eggs(chicken, waterfowl, etc). It also helps on your airflow, the intake of fresh air and the exhaust vents. And it will also tell you the basic reasons for chick mortality at different stages of developement. It really is a good book!

This sounds like a great book, what was the name of it again??

Does anyone here raise Peafowl? If so, what do you feed them when its time for them to start laying, other than "Gamebird Layer Feed"?? I have been feeding chicken scratch and greens and bread so far and they seem to love it. Any suggestions on what should be fed?? I just recently got my peafowl but dont know that much about them.

I'm having a bad day .... actually, it started yesterday when I lost my cell phone. I called AT&T and they said we aren't due an upgrade yet, so I have to buy another phone

I sure do miss my cell phone. It's amazing how little I used it but how much I miss it when it's gone.

We feed ours chicken feed and 20 percent layer pellets and for extra protein we feed softened dog & cat food. I don't know much about them either, but poultyand bees has had them for several years.
