Ugh! My Blackberry died last year (with 5 little kids, sometimes I'm just not quick enough to keep it from hitting the floor). I went to Walmart and paid $20 for a "go phone" - it's a little Nokia - put my SIM in it...and we were good to go until I was eligible for an upgrade. But, that little Nokia is so reliable that I still haven't upgraded. If you go to the AT&T store, you can get a new SIM for your phone (minimal cost last time I had to) and just throw it in a go phone.

Good Luck!!

Thanks everyone that responded to my cell phone problem. I think I'll do what Jacksonmom said ... go buy a Go Phone for around $20 & get AT&T to activate it. I never even thought about buying a used phone until Maribeth and Rebecca told me. I thought about it, but I don't want to buy a phone from an individual on eBay or craigslist and find that it was stolen or the person still owed money on it or something.

Hello Tara.

Did the bad weather make it to your neighborhood last night? I wasn't expecting a storm of that magnitude and I left my power tools outside, covered only by a tarp. They made it thru ok, but I was worried there for awhile.

Yes! got a smidgin of hail too. just tiny stuff. Lots of rain, wind, lightening. Kinda sorta got worried there, but went to sleep anyways.

The back yard flooded, of course, but luckily all the birds were roosting properly.

They said that we got some quarter sized hail around here, but I guess I missed it. I saw a lot of smaller hailstones tho. Today was nothing short of perfect tho. I got out and messed with the birds all afternoon. We made some decisions to revamp some breeding pens and restructure some others.

I also had a chance to catch and examine some of our new babies. Man, they are looking pretty good for the most part. I have 11 young birds on the ground out there now, and 2 -3 of them are really good show prospects. We're going to put them up on wire very shortly to keep them in shape until we can determine what to do with them. I love this part of raising birds.

That's the reason for straight pipes.

One of my grandson's friends talked his mom into allowing him to buy a motorcycle. Yesterday he was riding it to school and, in all that fog, he didn't see a semi. Tonight, she's making funeral arrangements for her 15 year old son. 15 just isn't old enough. I still vote no.

I've still got some time before I'm to that point. Hatched off a bunch of stags late in the year off my cubalaya. Wasn't what I wanted. I was hoping for pullets.

I totally agree with you. I am convinced that some folks use the hood ornament as a sighting tool to aim at motorcycles and that other folks tend to look right past them. Either way, the motorcycle rider loses in any collision with a vehicle, tree or just laying it down on some uneven road or gravel. Young people already think they are imortal. They just don't understand how quickly situations can go really bad or have the experience to know when to stay off the road.

By the way - I like your newest signature line: Is it my imagination, or do buffalo wings taste like chicken?

Think I could find a new Jersey at the Jones auction?

Jones does sell cows. Most that I have seen go through there were meat cows and an occasional Holstein, but the person with the best idea of what goes through the Jones auction would be NNbreeder's wife, Teva. She and her mother seldom miss attending the Jones auction.

If you can't find a jersey at the Jones auction, let me know.
I have a friend that works the OKC cattle auction and if one comes thur,
he can get it before it hits the scales. A lot better price too.
