Faerie,

You don't need a freezer. I just set an ice chest on the porch and use it as a refrigerator. It will work until the temperature climbs back above freezing.

-Stimp-

Last snow storm we had, we didn't have much room in the fridge, so we used the snow drifts next to the back door. We just stuck the beverage jugs/cans/bottles directly into the snow and got them when we wanted something to drink. That left the fridge closed unless we needed something to eat.

Hey Sooner,

This is Doc.

I make the Death By Chocolate Cake but it takes about 3 1/2 hours to make. The block dark choclate is hand grated.
The Swiss and Belgium chocolates are blended before added to the batter.
I made one of these cakes several years ago and a guy ate just one piece of the cake. After he was finished eating
he said, "Man, that stuff is so good, I'd French kiss my Grandma for another piece of that cake."

Just imagine what would happen to a woman????? Every man around might want me to make one for their wife.

Stimpy : I found something else cool in this old house today, a waterbed heater those real flat 14"x24" with a thermostatic dial and temp sensor on it. I plan to use it in the big brooder I have out in the coop, lay it down on the brooder floor to keep the chicks toasty

so they don't have to stay in the house but for a few days. I tested it today and it works great and holds temps well, so another cool find. I am always looking for neat things to convert to any use I can for the chickens

LOL the only one that hauls daily here is my DD she has to haul to her goats. All my chickens have enough water for a few days at a time so I only have to deal with hauling if it is freezing outside every couple of days.

I might be getting some of that death by chocolate........hehe.

There is only 4 lbs of different chocolates in just one cake... Sure to be a womans dream cake!!!

actually I am not much a chocolate person per say... I cant just have chocolate I have to have it with Peanut butter.. Now Jason he can crave and eat chocolate like a woman... ha ha ha

Hiya Doc!!

I can't wait to try it!! Sounds like I will need a big glass of milk to go with! Might be a good way to make everyone in a bidding mood at your auction!! LOL.

Could you also use that under a waterer to keep it from freezing?? Speaking of that, did you ever make the cookie tin heaters?? IF so what do you think??

Man I wish I didn't get Gastric Bypass now. I could go for some goooood cake. Went on a cruise a few years back and they had Molten Chocolate Lava Cake......I think I went into some sort of withdrawal when I got back.

Not looking forward to this storm......Oh to be young again and not be responsible for the damage and clean up.

Put enough rum in it and every cake is molten lava.
