OK guys this is definitely a group for me, at 6'3" and 370 lbs, one of my favorite things to do is cook and I really enjoy the testing and eating the mistakes part of cooking, I made a great brisket the other day that we shredded for fajitas with onions and mushrooms, some smokey chili beans, fried rice and picante with chips, I make a peach dump cake that I like real well and every time I am invited to a picnic they always ask me to make my baked beans, I guess they likeum, usually come home with an empty pan. So if I can make it to Lexington I will definitely bring some food, is this a child friendly meeting or should we stick to adults??? Lynn

I can get just about anything when it comes to pigeons with a little bit of work! I have but they aren't breeding at the moment...Indian Fantails (my main), Cappuchines, Swallows (fairy and selean), rollers, West of England tumblers (or are those rollers?), classic frills...I am getting some lahores and giant homers and know a guy with komodo / komora (?) tumblers that wants out for a price

...and well I am always looking! I really want a pair of pouters (haven't totally decided which ones but they gotta rasie their own babies!!!)

I just wanted to bring this up for discussion.....
At the POOPS (People of Oklahoma Poultry Swap) meeting, who all would be interested in a raffel table. I could bring enough stuff to get us started, and I would ask (beforehand) for others to bring stuff to donate. Anything that related to poultry would be allowed and welcomed (hatching eggs would be great, too!

). We would have to come up with a place for the money it raised to be donated to....

Yes Lynn, we are very organized. I am an officer (Captain Stimpy) and you might see the others give me the 'one finger salute' when we pass one another. Bring me $20 cash to the meeting which will bring your dues up current and I will teach you the super secret handshake.

Count me in for some eggs...probably coturnix...How about we give the money to a group that helps tornado victims or other such folks in OK...that has already happened and we aren't even into the real season yet...

A lesson in culling reminded me of a neighbor I had once. This guy was so afraid of snakes that he wouldn't even let me put a dead snake's skin in the back of his truck during a coon hunt (I wanted to tan it and make a hat band of it).

Well, one day he goes out to the hen house to collect eggs and lo and behold, there was a big ol' snake in one of the nesting boxes. He ran back into the house and grabbed his shotgun and and some shells, then hurried back out to the hen house to kill that snake.

He killed the snake alright. But by the time that snake was dead, he had "culled" about half of his flock.

I guess that's one way to do it.
