Are these the FOO FOO birds that caused me so much grief?

Heh. Yes. I'm trading them for a Marans layer. I think your anti-Foo Foo rubbed off on me!

Except for my cochins. My cochins may be Foo Foo, but they're staying

I plan to go to Blanchard, but haven't yet told my plans to the social director at the house. He has been mumbling something about needing to go to the lake to pick up the lawnmower on which I broke the hydraulic lift arm, the one time he let me use the lawnmower in the past two years. Since I am off work for the Monday holiday, I hope to persuade him to wait and go on Sunday or wait until a different weekend. After all, the grass won't need to be mowed until the end of March. What is the rush with getting the lever on the mowing deck fixed?

That is certainly true of my chicken yard in OKC. There isn't a blade of grass growing in that area. They leave the vitex bushes alone, but the Hydrangeas (sp?) didn't make it. I need to clear the area around my bee yard so hubby won't feel the need to mow next to the fence and I have decided that the best non-chemical way to do that is to put a couple of chickens in a pen next to the bee yard and let them decimate the bermuda grass beneath their feet.

...and if you get enough poultry in the yard, you won't need a lawn mower at all...

Mowing poultry doesn't make sense.

Mowing poultry doesn't make sense and I am sure PETA would not like it.

Aw shucks - you edited before I could respond. I was going to commend you on knowing the "rules" of a happy marriage.
Rule # 1 - The Wife is always right.
Rule # 2 - If you think the Wife may be mistaken, see rule #1

Just the fat version...

Ok Quick test Beth.
Pick the one that doesn't fit.

1. Apple, Peach, Pear, Clydesdale

2. Beth, Smiley, Helpful, Fat

So see, you were wrong with the fat reply.

Now had you said "The fat version is Monty" that would have been correct. Albeit rude, but correct. ( Plus I would have beeen in overalls not a bikini)

You need to study more.

.

The guy that came and bought the chicks and talked me out of a pair of my BLRW called while we were gone. He asked me what would cause that rooster to up and die! First, lets just look at this, he asked me repeatedly if I would sell him, and I said no cause he was my spare in the event something happened to my main rooster. Secondly, he offered $50 first thing, there was no dealing. I still wasnt sure if I wanted to sell him, but I did. Third, that rooster was perfectly healthy walking around having a good old time before he left here. He said he went to check on them this morning and the rooster had died not long before he got out there! It makes me mad, that rooster would still be alive if he was here, he was completely healthy when he left..... and I hate to say this but Im not really sure if he is dead, after all how often does a chicken just up and die without cause!
