Actually, while I really really liked the foos, the problem was that since I'm already having to fly under the radar, it makes more financial sense to have breeds that are justifying their expense. Unfortunately, "cute" and "fluffy" doesn't necessarily pay for their food

I knew you were joking, btw

You are very welcome. I already decided that if work wanst me to do more training, they will either rent me a car or train me closer to home. I am not flying anymore. This bird is grounded. My stomach os still doing flips!

I understand the reasoning. Since I am so tired and cranky, I am headed to bed. It has been a very long week.

RIR hens were selling for $12 a pop at Blanchard tonight. The Delawares I had my eye on went for $15 apiece. Six of them! The pros were bidding against me, so they must have been worth it. My brother couldn't believe I went all the way to $12 or so before I stopped.

I will be there next Saturday! I am goign to the city for a lecture (like they way that sounds...makes me seem intelligent!)

Well, I get a lecture every time I bring home something from an auction and I don't even have to go anywhere to get it.

Bon Soir Everybody!

Got home from the auction about 30 minutes ago. It was a lot of fun, if for no other reason then I got to spend the evening with awsome chicken people. There was not very many birds and the prices seemed kinda of low for some birds and high on others.

Met Faerie and her man J. Of course the regular crew was there; Carla, Gerald, Stephanie, Carl, Al, Monty, Buster, Mike, Maribeth, Jer-man, and I think I got everyone.

And yes I did munch some nachos. Can't go to the auction with out having those.

Did get some collapable pens, a pretty $2 rooster and a trio of creveouse (spelling ??) that Monty brought. Today shaped up to be a fun filled day of "chickeny goodness".

Well I am going to finish my ice cream, shower then head to bed. Hope everyone made it home ok. Have a great night, everybody!

I had a terrific time tonight at the Blanchard auction. It was great to see & visit with so many awesome Okies. I was so entertained the entire evening, that I didn't even know what was being auctioned and didn't buy a single thing there

Oh, but I did have some cool chickens to bring home with me. Thanks to Grace & her father Garry for shopping & buying and Al for transporting, I now am the proud owner of a great pair of show bloodline crele OEGB.

And thanks to Kaye, I'm the proud owner of some awesome puff-ball foo-foo chickie silkies. They're all so beautiful! Let me know when you get the new incubator and I'll give you those marans & some BLRW eggs.

All the new chickies are happy in the chicken bedroom. They may get to stay as house chickens until warmer weather is here to stay.

I really enjoyed visiting with Al's better half Laura tonight. She's decided to get a fainting goat!

Poor Al! Oh, and we got to visit with the Stephanie & Carl, Maribeth & Dean, Suzie & Vern, Kaye & J, Jerry, Sam, Monty & Jared, Asa & his wife, Michael, Rebecca, Jim, and we saw KC & Donice's father, and of course Jerry, aka auctionlover, and ... I probably forgot someone.

I'm exhausted & need to crash in bed soon or I may start snoring right here while typing.

I forgot to mention how entertaining it was to watch Monty's son Jared with the rooster he bought at the Blanchard auction. Jared is a chicken whisperer .... well, he can definitely calm down a rooster and can hypnotise it to lie down on the floor & stare at something. He can also make the bird tuck it's head under a wing & sleep. The whole table of Okies were amazed with Jared's talents.

Oh yeah, one more thank you is due .... Maribeth ... you are AWESOME! You know I love that honey! Thank you so much!!! I just couldn't resist it! It's almost as addictive as a poultry auction
