That is awful. Did you have one of the newer heaters with a shut off if it gets too hot? The one's we use have the automatic shut off. I'm getting scared now because there is one in each bedroom. It is the only way to heat this house. It is a rental and I can't run propane lines to each bedroom. There is a propane heater in the living room, but that is the only one.

an those shut offs only work if the heater get to hot not the cord or plug

I don't think they feel hot. They have thermostats that I keep set around 70 degrees. Ok now I'm gonna be freaking out until we move. The house we are remodeling has propane heaters throughout the house. Hopefully they will be fine for a couple of months more.

i'm sorry- biology is a tough class- how is the shawl coming?

3rd repeat of the lace edging. Takes roughly 2 hours/repeat (and since I'm adding stitches as I go, it will get steadily longer time-wise) and I've got 7 repeats to go... so it'll be a while yet.

Apparently it's just us tonight. I have been let to my own devices and have been getting into trouble. Oh well. I am the only one awake at home and have been talking to myself here. How goes the work today? Did you get much done? I figure it was probably too wet and muddy, but I hope you were able to get some things done. I know it will take a while to get things settle, but I hope everything goes smooth for you. Did I read your post earlier correctly? An electric heater caused the fire. If so, that is just awful. That is my main source of heat in this old house also.

Another thing that people don't think about is the breakers/fuses. If a breaker is rated for ten amps that does not mean that it will trip out at ten amps. It means it will carry a ten amp load constantly. A ten amp breaker will trip out at more like 40 amps, more then enough to smoke a little 16ga wire.

While I'm at it too. Never buy an extension cord that is less then 12ga wire size and preferably one that is rated indoor/outdoor. The cost is greater but oh well, the safety factor is much greater.

With wiring the bigger the number is the smaller the wire is. 12ga is a lot bigger wire then 16ga wire.

Chuck I run a single LPG heater in this trailer with a 100lb bottle. It costs 51 dollars to fill them here and through the coldest weeks they will last two weeks. I have the heater plumbed in with 3/4 gas line and then hooked to the regulator with 5/8 copper. By law the bottle must be at least 15 feet away from any building. I use two of the bottles so I can just roll in a new one when the other one empties.

A chicken is not built the same as other animals, you can actually see the windpipe at the back of the throat. If she is wheezing I would suspect a resp. illness. Look her over really well. Has she lost weight? Is there any discharge coming from the mouth, nose or bubbles in the corner of the eyes?

Check inside her mouth and throat. Are there any whitish or yellow sores or a red stringy looking thing?

Also do you have any meds on hand and when was the last time you wormed and with what?

Frogging... rip it, rip it!

Well if you just keep repeating the mistake at regular intervals it would make it look like it was part of the pattern.

That's true in more than just knitting.

How about... not so much? It just doesn't usually jive with the pattern at all...

Yeah but I heard he was destined for great things by a prominent world class breeder!
