Yes, as a matter of fact! Blue slates are ahead of the others. I think we have around 10 blue slate eggs, compared to 1 royal palm and 1 bourbon red. My Narragansetts are the slackers!

We have got to take some chicken hatching eggs & chicks to auction this Saturday. I'd like to think we're going to visit the Jones auction, but we might take a few things to the Blanchard auction on our way to the Jones auction. We're getting around 4-6 dozen eggs a day from the chickens and the incubator is full and I don't want to fill up the 2nd cabinet incubator because we have too many chicks everywhere as it is!

I thought you were a Minorcian? What is this Langshan, Barred Rock stuff?

I had to give them up. I didn't have the facilities to keep the male...with a comb! lol! During the winter I had to put him in the back bathroom which smelled AWFUL and would tear up his tail feathers. So I sold him to a guy that needed new blood AND had a heated barn for his birds!

Langshans and Barred Rocks do better in the OK weather! lol

sounds like you need to borrow a palm hen from me and i need to borrow a blue hen from you, that way they can spur the others into laying.

Hey Ronnie are your Dachsunds going to be purebred? I have a beautiful dapple bred to a dapple that is due the last week of march. Then I have another that may be bred but not for sure,if so she will be due in april. I have three altogether. All girls, one longhair dapple, one wirehaired blk/tan,one silkie longhair(first of those I ever saw, looks like a nonsense until you get her wet!). We love dachies. Our first was eleven when he got struck by a car. It was like loosing a kid.Wished I could figure out this pic thing I'd send pics to show you. Good luck with yours.

Hmmmm .... I guess I need to discuss it with Gerald & see if he needs a road trip. I think it will also depend on the weather. I wonder if it'll be warming back up by then.

My current answer (

) is no, just because you are going to have enough to deal with the day of the show. I do love the look of the BLR coloring, but if I cannot find any hens for him locally, there wouldn't be much use in keeping him anyway
