It seems the dog needs a lesson in Gallagher or Zareba. I have sitting at my feet a fence charger that will bring a horse to it's knees that I use to train stallions to respect a fence. A dog would take a much lighter charger then that.

Believe me, the dog that J plans on getting when his older dog (13 year old black lab mix Lucy that we call Boo Girl) passes will be taught that lesson. My dad is already drawing up plans on how to electrify the coop (he's done it before with his garden to keep the stray dogs out) when we move it away from the property line to conform with the code.

J's dog, Lucy, is the sweetest thing. She's always been super mellow. She hangs out inside with the baby chicks with her head propped up on the brooder. She'd bathe them if they let her.

I've told J that she's the perfect companion dog. We are both sad that she's getting so old and frail. She's started losing her hair, at first I thought maybe mange but the skin sample came back clean. The vet says it's simply age showing up.

BUT, I was Senior Dish Washer at the Last Supper. A title that I'm still proud of.

You should remember since you was the Junior BusBoy picking up dishes.

Dunno, in my post I mentioned that J said you should do... and he's definitely not a woman.

It's not that bad, ya know. Even I could keep a vulture under the right circumstances. Of course, I am also VERY LUCKY that J has absolutely no interest in chickens, so he would not take part in any scheme to get me any of them. Load off my mind, right there!

Also helps that when I go places, I go in stealth mode. Most people have no idea that I'm there.

Although Michael did say when I went to the first auction that he recognized me from me wandering around Mary's auction before (I was with my mom, who thinks my chickens are "cute" and buys them sweet foods and toys and stuff because they are her "grand chickens"... and she is from NYC so she is forgiven her eccentric ways

)

Ducks don't like to be confined, do they... upon perusal of the code, I'm thinking that letting them run around my back yard would still be considered "at large", right? So, unless I could find a way to confine them to some part of my yard, I don't think I could keep them... and since everything I've read suggests that they wouldn't be happy confined to a run, I guess that means no ducks for me unless someone can figure something out.
