On behalf of the Pryor 4-H , i would like to say thank you to all that made the N.E. Oklahoma Poultry Show a great event, i got to meet a lot of the people there, but not as many as i would like to have, there were a large number on new faces which mean the poultry show are still holding their own. So when we fire up for the next one i hope to see everyone again.
Oh by the way , new poultry sale in Chouteau on March 14th at 1:30 pm hope to see you there.

I had a good day at the Pryor show yesterday!
Several from our BYC group stopped by to visit, including MAllen who brought a pen full of birds and donated them to three BYC families - myself included! I now have an adorable little Blue d'Ucle pair

There was a great group of Silkie breeders that I got to spend some time with. And I finally picked up two Silkie hens from our Betsy.
Corey, Liz, TJ, Maddison, and myself were the juniors from our group who showed, and I think we had some very nice entries! TJ and Maddison went on to place in the top five juniors - congratulations, you two!
My birds did not place as high as I had hoped, but the competition was much harder than I've ever had, since the Juniors had to compete against the pros (Open class)! I did get two Best of Breed, though

Oh, I also got a lovely Chocolate Polish cockerel!

The End

This afternoon I'm taking it easy. I'll probably spend a lot of time plotting the layout of my new pens. Then I'll try to figure what it's going to cost to implement those plans. Then I'll start planning how to con my grandsons into building all those pens for me.

Sorry you weren't able to come, but just so you know for next time - show never ever have an ending time, there is just no way to know how long the judge and the paperwork will take. About the earliest a show will end is 1:30, most small shows end at 2:00 or so, this show did not end until almost 4:00, but the birds were able to be cooped out at 3:30.

Looks like I may have to build my own shed for them. So far, the only person who really wants it to be planned, put together, etc seems to be me.

That's what I've been doing! Now I've just got to talk hubby into adding the cost for them onto the loan we are getting to fix the house. I better do some fast sweet talkin' because he is going to the bank tomorrow while I'm working.

Cuban, I've been eyeballing cubalaya. That's bad. Very bad. I have nowhere to put any more birds. Especially after the dog fiasco today.

Oooh! I'm working on a bantam line too!
