Aren't they just lovely?

They're super friendly too!

He didn't bring them in until about half way through, and all of a sudden I turn and saw "What is that!" because there was this gorgeous rooster flapping his wings, and a hen by his side that was just as beautiful

LOL....Before I had even properly met MAllen, I saw what
was going on and told TJ "You stay away from that guy over
there !!! ". I know he was a busy guy there for a bit...

We are totally out of pens around here. Somethin's gotta
give.

As usual, the guys got home with about half of their cage
cards, so I don't really know what all they did. TJ got
a BB SCCL, 4 - 1sts, a 2nd, and a 3rd. I know Pa-Pa got
a RB with a black OEGB pullet and a BB for a cornish
cockrel.

Yup, TJ and Madison placed in the Top 5 Junior Exhibitors.
They had trophies this year instead of the plaques. They
were both pretty proud.

This only being our second year to venture beyond our
local shows, am sure we'll learn to "expect the
unexpected"....

But, one thing that doesn't change, our Jr. OKIE BYC'ers
do a fantastic job and represent our group very well,
as well as the future of the poultry associations.

Grace, Cory, Liz, Madison and TJ.......WAY TO GO !!!!!!!

Have a good one !

Eulaine,
When Matt offered me a pen full of young assorted breed birds that he wanted to donate to someone, I was very tempted.... but had to let reason take over and tell myself that I should only take one or two. I told him he wouldn't have any problem "getting rid" of them, though! I went to get Sherri and her girls, and he went to get Carah and her daughter, and in five minutes he was birdless!

(Not to worry, he still has his fantastic AGB and OEGB birds at home).

It was great to visit with you all, as always! And tell TJ and Bill I said congratulations! I never got to see Bill's birds, though, because I only looked for TJ's!

As usual, the guys got home with about half of their cage
cards, so I don't really know what all they did.

Oops, I haven't seen mine yet..... I hope they just got left in the truck!

What are those new things where you can download books & read them on it......My sis has one & she can download several books & take it with her. You might even ask him to make a list of stuff he would like.

Well I'm still considering options for a birthday present. I have 3 weeks to decide. He is all boy and tends to tear up electronic devices.

In the meantime here are some baby pics.

Okay, here is my initial plan for a new pen layout. These pens will be tall enough to walk in and be covered. Let me know what you think. We don't plan on keeping all of the ducklings. We just wanted to make sure we had enough to get what we really wanted. I also have plans on getting rid of 3 guineas because I have 4 males. I don't any plans on getting a larger quantity of birds, just rotating stock occassionally. Well that is except for the quail. I plan on at least doubling their numbers. That is, once they start laying again. I plan on getting a couple more Seramas, but that is about it. I want some honest opinions. I like the idea of everything together in one space. It will make taking care of them a lot easier.

Thanks Jeannie. Did you hear that Roy ended up with the Buff ducks that I got from you. I decided to keep just one variety and we decided on the Rouens. I think they are really cute. I just need to get me some more RIR hens and get rid of the BSL. I would like to have pure birds. It would be different if I could tell the difference between the eggs. The RIR and BSL hens that I have now lay identical eggs. I will be getting rid of four RIR pullets. We overwintered them for a friend. I wouldn't mind keeping them, but they really aren't pure. They were hatched from my eggs, so some may be crosses. I can't be positive. I am also overwintering the two Partridge Silkies for another friend. As soon as she takes them, I will be on the lookout for two white pullets or hens. I have decided to let my Serama keep her eggs, if she ever lays any, and hatch them. Then I will keep two pullets and sell the rest. These decisions will leave me with 4 White Silkies and 4 Seramas. I think that is a good number for the 4x4 condos.

So how are your farm-cleanup plans going? Did you get everything burned off before the wet stuff hit again? How did the sale of your pony go?

P.S. I'm bored and losing my mind. I have been without internet, other than my phone, for a week. I'm really talkative now that I am sitting in front of a computer with access to the rest of the world. My internet will not be fixed until Tuesday morning, but I have full access to do whatever I want at the office. I just gotta find the time to get here. I had some work to catch up on this weekend, so I'm rambling like crazy.
