Morning All,

I apologize for just blurting that last post without a "Good Morning", it upset me that anyone looses a bird especially if it came through us.
At NO TIME do I want anyone to think that we are a "FLY BY NIGHT" operation, here today and gone tomorrow.

WE WILL STAND BEHIND EVERYTHING WE DO!

Monty, I will find you some Welsummers if you would like. There were 6 beauties at Alex last night, 5 hens and a rooster.

Doc

Montana "Hot Dog" loves JD Tractors. He HAS to be on the tractor when Doc starts it to do anything.

I have some John Deere tractor stuff to give you if I can find a way to get it to you....(No, it's not tractor parts) I have a lot of fabric panels. Its for making children's quilts or wall hangings, but you could also make curtains or pillows or do whatever you want with it. I buy fabric in big bundles for my work. Never know what they're going to send...panels don't cutup good for bandanas (dog grooming shop) and I don't have any little people any more. I will be at Blanchard tonight. Will you be there or is there someone that could carry it to you?

Mornin' Okies. Got a hair appointment today... the chemicals used in my hair last time have caused it to knot a lot and stuff, and I'm sick of it, so I'm getting it cut off. It's hair, it'll grow back

Enjoying my grandbabies right now. Kind of hate leaving them but I sure want to visit with everyone tonight. See you all in a few hours.

Last month at the farmers market meeting, a guy said you had to have a license to sell eggs even if you have a small flock and are selling your own eggs. I was skeptical so I looked it up in the state statutes. Here is what it said....

§2-5-29.

OKlahoma producer of eggs selling ungraded eggs of his own flock
production is exempt from the provisions of this subarticle, provided
that if such producer desires to sell graded eggs, he shall be
permitted to do so if he complies with the provisions of this
subarticle.

So, I emailed the guy in charge of this sort of thing at the state ag and he called me yesterday to tell me I needed a license ($50), needed to pack them in new cartons, date the carton, grade the eggs, mark the size, and sell them within 45 days.

Yeah, 45 days. I wouldn't sell mine if they were over 2 weeks old.

I'm thinking he is full of it. By statute, even if I was required to have a license (which by the above, I'm not because I don't sell enough and I don't grade my eggs), my cost for a license would be $5 since I am selling fewer than 500 cases...

§2-5-28.

2. State egg dealer's license fees for dealers shall be determined on
the basis of cases of eggs sold in the shell in any one (1) month as
follows:

a. 1 to 500 cases -----------------$5.00

So, what do y'all think?

The guy is sending me a packet of information. I want to read through that before I email him again.
