And, Sherri, what were hatching egg sales like? I had some to sell and was interested in buying certain breeds, but there was no way I could have made it in time to see the hatching egg sales, so I didn't bother coming.

Lots of eggs went for $1 or less a dozen. There was a ton of eggs & birds there. Some of the OEG went as usual up to $20 a piece. John kept calling birds Japs (not sure they were) and they would go for $15-20 a piece. Nice looking roosters went for $6-8 real easy. I heard a lady was there buying for the Dallas Zoo. I washed & bleached most of my birds so I think that really helped. My D'uccle was the top fetching bird.

I lost 12 RIR pullets today to a neighbor's dog. He thanked me for not shooting her and is paying a fair price for the pullets. I'm so mad I can't even think right now. In the end he said he would pen the dog up and we came to an understanding on how it would be handled if there is ever a next time. He understands perfectly how I've handled dogs on my place in the past, & knows that his will suffer the same fate.
