I had to go back to work today after 3 weeks off!!! I couldn't talk the doctor in letting me having anymore time off after my surgery. And I feel to good to fake it.

OOOHHH I am so excited about the POOPS party being at the KOA!! We will call and make reservations. I must get the pop-up out and get it ready!
TJ"S NaNa what a great idea about the Cowboy Hall of Fame, my boys would LOVE that.
I had a chick hatch last night, my first bantam brown leghorn. He is TINY compared to those cornish crosses.

Welcome to all of the new Okies!!

Man You Guys have been busy, congrats on passing Kentucky, when you find out about the paypal acc let us know, I can send some$, Cubin those pigeons are going to be as big as some bantams, so if you are getting four, you better take a regular cat carrier or small dog carrier, pigeons travel as good a chickens, I have hauled both all over Oklahoma to shows when younger, I will try to be at the poops as of now, I am planning on it, my wife may have to work! Lynn

Oh, trust me......I included that some of you were bringing
your kids and that TJ would have a blast.........LOL All is fair
in Love, War, and wanting to go to the POOPS meet......LOL

Have a good one !

Don't know if any of you know it or not but there is a pigeon museum near the Cowboy Hall of Fame, It is Called World of Wings, I think you have to make a reservation to veiw it on the weekends but I might be able to find out about it if anyone is interested, It is really neat, they have some lofts of pigeons there and have meets there and race birds from there and such, Lynn

I went back by KOA and had a nice visit with the manager. I think this place will work out wonderfully.
Also I found out that if we have people from our group rent ten cabins or campsites we get the clubhouse free. There are discounts for as low as six people using campsites.
The cabins rent for $52 per night and RV campsites start at $35 depending on the size of your rig.
There is a large grassy area near the clubhouse and away from the other camping areas where we can have the chickens.
Unfortunatly the pool won't be open that early. There is a small playground for the kids and go carts to rent. Not much else for the kids though.
Maybe we can think up some things for them to do. I personally like the game where we tie the kids to trees.

I have driven by the Pigeon museum several times but I haven't been there. It is out by the Cowboy Hallof Fame but further east toward the country.

If anyone reserves a campsite let me know and I will keep track of it. If we have enough campers, we can just divide the money we get for the clubhouse back to them.

When my DW gets home I will post info about the paypal account.

That is a good idea for grabbing eggs that are out of reach. I just use a long handled cooking spoon, but putting a handle on it would make it handier. I recall that my grandmother had a bent spoon attached to a broom handle for getting eggs that fell below the chicken wire roosts and I considered it a treat when I was about 6 years old to be trusted to bring the egg up using the spoon.

I don't have one now but I used to have a golf ball retriever I used to get eggs.
They are adjustable and work great. You can get them at any golfing or sporting goods store.

I use a minnow net on the end of a stick or plastic pipe about 3 to 4 foot long.

Is the club house what we need to rent of $200 (with $100 deposit). And we get the club house free if 10 people rent cabins or rv spaces? Did I get that right?

If that is the case, I wonder if we have 10 to rent cabins or spaces...

Do you have the phone number to call and make reservations? I would definitely be one that would be willing. Who else is interested?

Grace & Arms319 are you going to the Durant auction tomorrow night?

Hey everyone. Another okie here. I am around the southeastern area around the atoka area. I raise red blue laced EE and Welsummers.

My easter eggers are laying like crazy and FINALLY my welsummers started to lay again today.

I am looking for a blue ameruacana EE rooster if anyone has a really nice one. The roo I have in with my EE hens is just a mix of EE and RIR and I want a roo with a rose comb.

My Welsummers are simply gorgeous and my roo is a sweetheart. He is the best roo for a flock of hens I have ever seen.

We are thinking about getting one more coop of 4 hens and a roo but not sure what we want at this time.

The cabins rent for $52 per night

Ok I am all about renting a cabin!! I will firm up plans with hubby and let you know!!

There is a large grassy area near the clubhouse and away from the other camping areas where we can have the chickens.

Sounds PERFECT!!

And that is my favorite kids game too!!
