i know a guy that had some pigeons roosting in his attic.
I can't say on here what he called them.
I haven't heard words like those strung together since junior high
when one of my buddies was trying to teach himself how to cuss.

It's the cover of his newest book, which I am currently reading (see signature line).

I'm a librarian. I like to promote good books.

I used to carpool with a librarian, we were both working a "transitional" job. She moved due to divorced and my job got send to India. Since I assumed she liked books. I asked her what sheliked to read. She said "oh, I've never been much of a reader". I was a bit a-gog. I asked her if she had a thing for the Dewey Decimal System. her response was she just liked the quiet. Fair enough answer I guess.

I love the the scientific Richard Dawkins and have red a couple of his books but the politics that surround him, well I just stay out of it.

I haven't read a lot of Dawkins, but of what I have, this is by far the least shrill. More like a just-the-facts rather than a lot of ranting.

I had a library director like that. Never figured out how he advanced that high.

But not everyone who works in a library is a librarian, so maybe that was it. Just like not everyone who works in a school is a teacher. It tends not to matter much for a lot of library staff.

Does to me, though. I won't even hire someone for a clerk or library aide position if they aren't readers, and my interviews are peppered with questions to test them on it, even if they are only going to shelve books. I like people who love their jobs. Can't love library work if you don't love books, I figure.

Anyway, welcome to the thread, if I haven't said it already.

we had quite a thunderstorm roll through here about 6:30 this morning, then it rained for awhile and stopped - now it is starting to rain again. Should have left the house before the rain started again..... what was I thinking? Oh yeah - I was catching up on BYC and apparently wasn't thinking beyond the smiles about silly pigeon names.

That shows what kind of house-keeper I am. I've ben looking for them if for nothing else just to dust them off.

It was raining in sheets and hailing and everything here for about 10 minutes. I could hear some chickens complaining - and when I looked out the window the buff orps were huddled in a corner of the run with their beaks pointed up in the air trying to commit suicide. I rushed out and put them back inside the coop and shut the pop door. Silly hens. Now that it's raining in a more sedate manner I'll go open the pop door. I think the worst has passed us here - watch out to the east!

Morning!

No rain here yet. I 'm sure it's coming.

Thanks for the praise on the Tshirts but I don't design them, I just tell her what I want & she shoots idea's to me.

Guess we are down to 16 days to order Tshirts
