Wayne - you talk about foks doing dumb stuff with pigeons...several months back or more there was a person on eggbid selling rare saddleback lahores. those of us with lahores were either laughing or gagging. one of my buddies was liek...do y'all realize how many of them rare birds i culled last year! He did not have a good season. I told them I had even rares solid head colored lahores...they laughed again. (those are both total disqualifications...lahore standards are very specific about markings)

quess I need to go pack up some birds...

holler if you are thinking you might want peafowl and what you will pay...I will be seeing some soon. I have seem them sell from $50 - over $200 depending on color and such

It's just sad that all that dirt is just going to blow away. I shall alert my pals in Tyrone to watch for your yard to blow past!

Hey Teach...I'm so sick of mud when we build the new coop I'm putting cement in the floor. I don't ever want to pick another stinking egg out of the mud and poop again if I have my way. Even if I have to poor 1 bag of cement a payday to be able to afford it I AM HAVING CEMENT!!! Then I can clean the straw out and bring the power washer in and blow the heck out of the poo poo. And that's the truth!

Storm is just now hitting us in Claremore. YOu all could have used your manners and kept it down that way so I could go mow my mom's yard.

Ok I finally got my mailbox cleaned out, well mostly cleared out. That was a first for having my box full. Wow

Well we got a daluge this morning around 6:30 til 7:00 then it stopped. Tres bizarre! It did cool it down a little which I am glad because if we are having 80 degree temps in April, June is going to be 1000 degrees

It has been interesting to see how the storm tracked across Oklahoma from our posts this morning.

I agree that we will have to wait again to get into the garden, but now that it is tilled we won't have to be waiting for it to dry out so that it can be tilled. I think that I can plant the outer rows of my garden even after this rain by standing on the grass and reaching, just can't walk out into the middle for a few days.

Afternoon all,

Since I worked last Saturday I got a three day weekend

. I went down to one of the feed store as they were supposed to have gotten a ton of Chicks in yesterday as I was considering picking up some of the easter eggers they say they would be getting. The only thing they had was barred rocks so I was able to exit without chicks I didn't need.

The other feed store gets assorted bantams and production types but the guy seems to cherry pick the banties no matter how early you get there so I have decided not to shop there any more. Once again just as well for me.

I am getting pretty stuck on the idea of getting some Brabanters. I still want to get some Silkies just because I like em. I would also like to get some decent Orloffs. Plus going to get a few poults this year. If that works out I might try with Jersey Buffs again next year.

So much has changed since the last time I ordered hatchery chicks a mere three years ago. The world has gone chicken crazy. I finally got my order cancelled with Purely Poulty after getting things striaghtened out and then rescheduled yet again.

Anyone have any input on Brabanters? It looks like someone raises them since there are chicks on the POOPs list. Are they as flighty as say Hamburgs? That might end it for me right there.

Hi all - since the weather is icky I decided it's a good day to goof off.

I turned on the idiot box and there's this great show on called Hogan's Heroes! It's times like this I am glad I grew up without TV - I get to discover the good old shows!

Hope the rain runs out before it gets here tomorrow. We have another huge Amish sale then and I was hoping to go. Its a total mud bath there when it rains.
I'm filling the pool back up this morning. Proably won't run it full time yet ,just enough to keep it clean and the salt water moving. It sure is prettier than the old pool cover.

Got some radishes and onions planted this morning.Late for me but I'm in no hurry this year. Pulled some greens for the clucks. I just love watching them tear into a pile of green stuff.

Wow City! I can't beieve you have never seen that before. How strange it must be to discover black and white tv in this day of HDTV!I guess we forget how sheltered some peoples lives are/have been.Anyway its a great show ,enjoy!
