If you are interested in an auction there is one being held May 1st in Newcastle not to far from Blanchard.

I thought that auction was at the KOA campground in Choctaw.

Seriously, though, I'm glad you guys are around. Gives folks yet another fine outlet to buy and sell poultry locally. How was your turnout last week?

Sorry Stray - Roosters are males, so many of them have that chronic testosterone poisoning problem that you can't do much about...

(I have a cat named October - he's neutered

I can't answer your Q regarding NPIP, but Poultryand Bees' signature has the name and number of the person you can call to find out: it's Marie at the Dept of Agriculture, 405-522-6139.

modernman! (and look at you posting helpful info - good job and thank you!)

This will be our first one hopefully we draw a little bit of a crowd. We have heard a few things about other places and we were trying to set up our own auction and stray away from trends others have started. besides it gives us a chances to meet new and friendly faces sharing the same interest as us.

bunnies can be sexed about the time they are weaned - usually at 4-6 weeks old. Press gently on both sides of the area just in front of the anus and if the genitals resemble a round circle - it is a buck. If they resemble a straight line it is a doe. When they get older, if their genitals look a "burrito" it is a buck and if they look like a "taco" you have a doe.

You have found a wonderful group of folks who live in Oklahoma or wish they lived in Oklahoma. If you are asking about auctions, you are on your way to one of my personal favorites among the "chicken addictions" which is an addiction to attending poultry auctions. What kind of birds are you looking for and what do you have?

Blanchard is a wonderful auction on the 2nd and 4th Saturday, as is the Fletcher auction on the 3rd and 5th Saturday.
At Blanchard, hatching eggs and chicks start at 5:00, but they start selling canned goods and boxes of food at 2:00, then sell any goats and calves at 4:00.
Here is a link to the Oklahoma auction thread - information about auctions is on the first page

Actually, I'm a bit under the weather. Bad Heart Day. Some people have Bad Hair Days, but I don't have much of that anymore, so I do the heart thing. Other than that, things are great.

My oldest daughter closes on her first home tomorrow, so we are very very happy. Nice place, too.

Too bad it's in Texas.
