The Alpine Loop trip sounds awesome!

Yeah, it is. This will be my second trip, but Lou's first. My nephew and I rode it a few years back, but she chose to stay home that time. We'll stay outside of Ouray, and ride from our cabin to the trails. We'll ride over a bunch of 14,000 ft mountains and the passes between them. I want to take her over black bear trail toward Telluride. It gets pretty scary. She wants to ride the Durango - Silverton narrow gauge railroad too. From there, we'll go to Buena Vista, CO., to ride the trails over there for a few days, then back home. She wants to take up fly fishing too so, all in all, it should be a great trip.

Well if you decide to leave her home I'll take her spot in the side car.
Heck you won't even have to bring me back home.
Just put me in an aspen forest and leave me.

I feel a John Denver song welling up inside.

Amen Buckguy! "Rocky Moutain High"!

Hey Sooner those chicks look pretty good. Seems to be a lot of blues. I have a new rooster now and am hoping to darken the colors a bit. Would love to find that elusive red EE bantam roo. They are hard to find.I see that little turken guy in there!

Just got one of those calls you hate to get. Answered and daughter was in hesterical tears. Finally was able to say "--- and I just broke up,my world is over,What do I do" . Geesh its hard to be a parent long distance. Of course before she was finally able to get that out I was thinking a dozen other things that might have happened! And I lost my dads manual on whats a dad supposed to say! Oh well back chickens.

When I was working out of Denver, she flew up and I took some time off. We spent about 10 days driving the back roads and seeing as much of Colorado as we could fit in. I took her to see Doc Holliday's grave in Glenwood Springs, then to ride the railroad through Royal Gorge, and most everything in between. We fished a lot of high mountain lakes and photographed deer, antelope, and even a few mountain goats. Man, I like getting lost in those mountains.

Monty, I am trying really, really hard to get that image out of my head.

I had a run in with the Panhandle Barrel man once.

He came into my territory pushing some low grade stuff.

He threw in a few bells and whistles to try and stir up the market.

Okay Monty........I think your practice has paid off, you're back in top form! That there is funny!

Afternoon all,

My chicks showed up yesterday. I ordered them less that a week before I found this list. I haven't had any Americaunas' since I was in high school. There are the palest chicks I have ever seen. Looks like they are all going to be wheaten or buff. I thought there would be more color variety for sure.

The ones with the orange heads are Spizthaubens. This is my first attempt at uploading a picture here too.

Stimp - I couldn't visualize a "side by side" ATV so I looked it up and was relieved to see that it looks like a sturdy golf cart with large wheels and roll bars, rather than a motor cycle with a side car. I was visualizing y'all wearing helmets, goggles and scarfs that blew behind you in the wind.

A trip along Colorado trails in one of those sounds like it would be fun.
