I have never figured out how to upload a picture on here, so I am impressed with your aptitude. The Americaunas might have some blue spash in them. It is hard to say at this age what color they will continue to be. Monty bought a blue rooster (don't recall the breed) some time back and after its first molt, there wasn't any blue left. Go figure.

Did you indicate that you need another male button quail or just that you need to move some around to get the ratios correct? I have 5 buttons - 2 male and 3 females. I have them all in the same cage and they seem to tolerate each other pretty well. I finally got some button quail to hatch and followed the advice of Teach, and put them in with the other chicks in an aquarium with a desk lamp. I have been pleasantly surprised at how well they have thrived among all the Goliaths in there with them. I think of robin eggs when I see the size of button quail eggs.

I wanna go exploring trails in Colorado! I would go with you MOnty...my wife would yell the entire time about being careful and how we were about to die and for me to slow down...we have figured out there are some things we shouldn't do together...chickens being a big part of that...although she will help me feed sometimes and will always help clean...I think she likes to clean and put stuff in order...neither of which I am good at or do very often...

I am sitting here waiting on a parent...got my grades done...

We are going to grow someplants hydroponically...w/o soil in water...anyways...when you do searches on it...the first stuff that comes up is all about growing stuff you shouldn't be growing...that was fun! Didn't do that for me but I did it a little different than the kids...

I saw an article this past week (maybe in the Journal Record?) about growing plants in water and having fish swimming around the roots to grow the fish for food. The picture had a white covering on the water, through which round holes had been cut and the plants grew out of the round holes of paper/plastic. Actually, I thought of you when I saw the article but didn't think there was enough time this school year to do anything with it.

Do you just mean food wise? If you keep a watch on Sooner's food list posts, you should be able to tell if there's a gap that needs filling

I am at bit of a loss as to the sex due to them being different color varieties. I either have 3 males and one female or three males and one female. They are all coloring out now so it should be easy in a couple of weeks. It seems like only one does the loud rooster type call.

As for the Americaunas, thier down has gotten a great deal darker just since yesterday, it will be interesting to see what colors they end up.

Boys, it's never hard to talk me into a trip to Colorado. I can be ready to go with just one days notice. Heck, talk to me in the morning and I can be ready to go that afternoon. I even have some agreements with hotels for reduced rates. Or, I can get us a break on cabin rentals. Just say the word.
