Congratulations! Is the frigerbator the one you are using or will it be a few weeks before you hatch hundreds of chicks at a time in that mamoth incubator?

Buttercups are so pretty - I like their comb.

People Of Oklahoma Poultry Swap April 25th 2009 I-40 and Chactow KOA

camp.

This is just an informal get together of our group here and their family

and frineds. We can bring birds to sell/trade/swap.

Okie Dokie will start the food thread here and will update it here on this

post and also move it to current page each day. Will that work.

Who is bringing what.

Those that are traveling a ways maybe could do paper and plastic ware.

Breads and chips. There will be a Loves right at the exit off I-40 to get

ice and such if needed. There is a WalMart just about 15 miles from this

exit on I40 in Shawnee. There is also a walmart off I-240 and I-40 from

the west in OKC.

I just switched the eggs over from the Little Giant yesterday. So the Buttercup is a product of Little Giant hatched by a Hovabator. I'll be keeping the Hovabator as a hatcher. The Little Giant will be the hatcher overflow control.

But, I'm not going to hatch hundreds at a time.

I'm not going to do it.

No way.

Nope.

I may have to quit going to the auction. Looking at the swap threads. I will just have to budget. Kinda like my checkbook. Hmmm, that thing is drained every month.

Oops! That's not a good idea. I just have to stay with the one egg turner. Well, I'm already got an extra cartoon in there that I'm turning by a block of wood on either end.

Oh, no! I'm done for!

Charter - glad you've joined the group. This is a neat
bunch of folks on here. Where else could you get
a recipe for a buttermilk/grits flavored wooden bowl???

I had planned to wear a name tag up at Pryor, but
not sure I want you to look at TJ's and Kendra's
show birds.............ROFLMAO Seriously, we have
learned soooo much just listening to different people
that have been involved in showing poultry.

Bill has been involved in 4-H for lots of years while raising
his two daughters...cattle, hogs, goats, horses, and
a few chickens. He organized the Cherokee County
Swine Association years ago and hauled kids and calves
to the Kansas City Royal.

I'll have a tag on.....LOL "BYC Forum" - "TJ's Na-Na".

Have a good one !

Good morning to all, A perfect day for my favorite chicken joke.
It is so windy here that I saw a hen lay the the same egg twice.

I love that joke but Iam sure you guys get tired of me posting it.
I am gonna be in and out on here for a few days. I am heading out to the small school state basketball tournaments. Sixteen games in three days. I love the small schools.
I will try to read as many posts as I can I just don't know how much posting I will be doing.

POOPS ALERT

I paid part of the deposit for the clubhouse. So as they say I am committed.

The discount we get for renting camping spaces and cabins will be refunded later.

If you are contacting KOA to reserve a spot tell them you are with POOPS ( People Of Oklahoma Poultry Swap) That way they can track how much money we will get back from the cubhouse rental.

I think there are only six or eight cabins there and the cabins are very close to the clubhouse and to where we will have the chickens. There are a lot of campsites they are just not as close.

Ok! They are letting me pay as we go on the deposit at least for now. I paid $50 this morning and will go daily to pay as I recieve payments.

I will track this and keep records of what everyone has paid and then reimburse everyone's payment based on our discount reimbursement.

Anyone wanting to help with paying the depost can pm me and I will give you the paypal account address. If you want to send a money order or check, I will give you my home address.

I am not going to stop encouraging everyone to come to this event.
It is going to be a blast. So please plan to come.

I would fill a nest with about a dozen eggs, real or fake ones work about the same.

Well... as it oft times happens when ya get to running your big mouth about someone else's shortcomings...God sees fit to give ya a good dose of your own to humble you. Today... after much ranting and raving about hubby's accident history... made history of my own. I wish I had been doing something as honorable as using a chainsaw to shorten power poles. Nope... Just making a salad... with my rreeeaaaalllyyy sharp Wolfgang Puck knife. Chop, chop, chop and off went the tip of my finger. Husband was hollering at me for throwing tip in the trash... much blood, but I'm still breathing...I stand here before y'all.. (Ronnie) rebuked...embarrassed...and humbled.
