Grace - Have been meaning to ask you....
How's the new job going? Hope it's
something that you enjoy and are in
with some good folks.

Thanks for asking! I haven't gotten to start because we haven't found a house in the area outside of Duncan that allows enough chickens

Well day 1 of classes are over. There are just 4 more to go. I guess I am going to try to find a Wal-Mart this evening. I need to buy a light jacket because the classroom is freezing cold. It could have been because of the cooler weather today, but I don't want to be cold all day tomorrow. I suppose Tulsa isn't so bad. I did wake up to a pretty mean looking storm. The sky was pretty. I didn't much like driving in it though. I need to figure out a good place to eat dinner. Any one have a suggestion?

I have two chocolate colored mini-rex does, each of which had kits about 2.5 weeks ago. My mini-rex buck is black, so I don't know yet what color the kits will be. The last time, most were black with a few sort of a cinnamon brown color.

Where is everyone???

Got on and found no one has posted in almost three hours. Guess everyone is taking advantage of the cooler weather. It is so nice outside, spent a couple of hours cutting branches and pulling weeds out of the yard. Our birch tree sends tons of runners all over the yard so I have to go pull them all up every few months or so. Big pain in the %@& but good exercise though and the powers that be know I need it. Going to fire up the chain saw tomorrow and get some of the hugh branches that fell down during the storm cut up and maybe tackle a tree or two that is dead and needs to come down. Planning on getting the wood burning stove in this summer so we will have it for the winter and hopefully cut our heating cost. Thankfully out here wood is free if you are willing to cut it yourself.

So anyone have anything special they are going to be doing this week? Summer school starts tomorrow and am actually looking forward to it. Get to see some of my students from last year and work with people I like so it should be all good. Working summer school isn't bad, it is only Tues, Wed and Thurs from 8:15 to 11:30 and I make a nice amount of money to get some projects I need done around here done.

Hope I can go to Blanchard Saturday. I know Doc and Peaches are going and Monty said he was going to try to be there. Hope to see more of BYC friends. Just to warn you all I am on the hunt for peafowl. Yes it is that time of year and I am so wanting some baby peachicks and an extra nice peacock for Piaget (she needs a man....). Anyone remember the old Loony Toons Fog Horn Leghorn and the hen who is always trying to catch him. It is kind of like that for my poor hen.

Well I am off to close the coop and then hit the hay. Hope everyone has a great night and an even better week.

Don't forget that the Prague exotic animal auction is Friday June 18 and Saturday June 19. They sometimes have peacocks that you can buy at their set price on Friday or bid on when they come through the ring on Saturday morning/afternoon.

Is anyone planning to go? I would like someone to see if they can find me some Red Golden or Yellow Pheasant hatching eggs. I bought some at that auction in 2006 (I know, ancient history) and it was the only time I saw several dozen of the exotic pheasant eggs for sale at one auction.

Just discovered a funny looking chicken in my brooder. It has a body like a modern game and a neck of a turken. Now waiting to see how it really turns out. I guess that is what happens when you get mixed chicks.

More of Superior Farms poultry supplies will be at Blanchard Saturday.

Standard exhibitor cages,Large bird exhibitor cages, waterers, feeders, wood egg trays, cage feeders and lots more.

I had the same reaction when I had to scroll down to find the Okies thread. That doesn't happen very often.

Is there a particular variety of peacock you are seeking or just one that has enough feathers to impress Piaget?

Bigokie, I hope they brought good. What little I watched, everything was going very low. I saw some barred rock pullets mixed with a few cockerels that were probably 6 weeks or so go for .25 each.

that will probally be my luck.i sold alot of the pullets before i took them in the older stuff.an kept all the blue ones.so what ever they brought will atleast help with my feed bill.
