That is the LAST time that I take my family to a pet store! I went for TWO things! I spent $450. I now have 10 live mice and 2 new ferrets. They didn't have frozen mice, so I had to get live and of course Lauren wanted to keep them as pets. So that means a cage, bedding, food, feeder, and waterer. Then we decided to pick up a few things for the snakes cage. The 2 baby ferrets were apparently just too cute for Andrew to say no. We are headed home to get everone settled in and then I get to go to work. Someone has to pay to feed all these critters.

this is precisely the reason I don't like to take Jaxon with me to the auctions. he wants to buy multiples of things we already have, because he wants "different" rabbits or baby chicks or etc.

Besides you know that you can use the ferrets as snake food later on....

OUCH that hurts...and we had no warning that that severe of a storm was headed our way...did you know in advance? Our Howler (weather radio) just said heavy rain was possible...

absolutely no warning at all My satelite weather on my radio said 20% chance of rain with a 9mph sw wind. Heck the day 22 tornadoes Touched down in may of this year The weather man said we have 2 tornadoes in kingfisher cycloning in the rain wrap. I thought to myself (as my 6 year old took of running and crying saying DAD we got to hide!) NO YOU IDIOTS THERE IN MY BACK YARD!!!

Oh man, I know it was terrible that day too! I feel blessed that those missed us...they were out by Cedar Valley as I recall. Les would know better as they were closer to him! YIKES!

I guess that storm was a healthy reminder that when the severe thunderstorm warnings come on that we really DO need to pay attention. I think I got lulled into complacency because the last several weeks have been just lots of rain, very little wind or hail, etc. I just got too comfortable. But it sure was impressive!

Well, I am off work now, gotta travel the LandCrusher (LandCruiser) home to sweat with the oldies...feeding time! See ya in awhile peeps.

My 6 year old said it best she said "Daddy why don't you just watch the weather tv before the morning and if there might be a tinsy bit of rain keep the birds from going out" I died laghing but inside i knew she was right. They grow up so fast (Darn soybeans)

MM. Let me know if you are interested in chicks I have a friend that hatches weekly. He has Welsummers, Cuckoo Marans, Rhode Island Reds and breeds and hatches his own first generation sex-links.
He has some other breeds as well.
OKcarla (Tuttle) in our group is also someone that is usually hatching weekly. There are others here too that are hatchaholics.

Oh yeah

Glad to see you made it.

Just getting caught up after getting home from work.

Beth I often get bored late at night when nobody is up and I wander all around the internet looking for things that will help out later. I come by it honestly as dad would often tear down old houses to build sheds and such out of and that is where I learned how to salvage things out.
