If you are bringing anything to sell, the earlier the better. I think that they are starting the sale of stuff other than poultry at 4 this week, instead of 2 pm, with the poultry related items to begin selling at 5 pm.

If I am taking something to sell, I try to get there by 3 so that it sells earlier in the auction. In any event, I try to be there by 4:15 so there is time to look around, snag a table at the back in front of a fan, get a snack, visit, etc.

If you are coming in from Blanchard, you go all the way through town on HYW 62 and then turn South (left) on South County Line Road. You will have just passed the intersection of HYW 62 and HYW 76 and there are rodeo grounds on the corner at S. County Line Rd.

I have found that I can brouse BYC pretty well on my cell phone. I haven't mastered answering it yet and have hung up by accident on a lot of very nice folks - including some BYC folks

.

One of my guineas sat on a nest for 2 months and the minute I decided that she should be moved just in case something actually hatched, she decided the fun was over and she wouldn't get back on the eggs. After 2 days of her pacing up and down the pen where she had been place into protective custody, I let her out. She ran with the other guineas for a few days and then this morning I noticed there were only 4 guineas running together again. The other guineas had started laying in a nest where the turkeys were laying, after I took the one guinea off the mountain of eggs, so I don't know whether she will try and claim that nest now.

Take care of yourself and follow drs orders so you heal quickly. And don't be too macho to take pain meds before you desperately need them. Pain is hard on your health.

Thanks for the info on where it is at! I was wondering, it is looking like I will drive straight there. I plan to bring the horse trailer so the chickens will have plenty of air & some shade on the ride down.

Looks like the thread has been busy today. I've survived two days with students, and I've only had to confiscate one cell phone and send one kid to detention for being mouthy. One a day is okay with me. Maybe if I build my rep as a big meany head they'll settle down faster and we can accomplish more. Many of last year's English students are now in my art classes, so they just grin and wink at me when I have to remind someone to follow the rules.

Temperatures are expected in excess of 103 tomorrow. I'm going to wet down the pens before I head for school.
