Poor Montana! My first year at the Middle School I got EVERY bug except Pink Eye. I blew way past my sick days in absences. Now I have developed alot more imunity and have become obsesive compulsive about hand washing and ect.

Peaches,

I can tell you why he's sick....I teach Pre-K and I see this happen every year. It's the kids that have had stay at home moms and haven't had to stay in daycare's. He'll have a pretty rough year this year but he'll be fine next year. It usually takes the first year to build their immunity up. He's perfectly normal getting everything going around.....certainly not fun but normal.

Awww good to see ya back Donna, I was trying to say the same thing but not as well!

Are you settling into a routine now that school is back in??

His name is actually Jacob (funny thing is I used to call him Jason too!)

Jacob will be coming to our newcastle show on the 16th! If you need help getting ahold of him just let me know.

I would almost bet too that as well as kids bringing stuff in, the buildings themselves are harboring some nasty infections. You know they just don't clean the buildings as they should. When was the last time you have seen a custodian wash down the lockers or the walls? And I bet the air ducts are nasty and mold covered on the inside. Add all of this to the fact that a school building is mostly shut through the summer and you have a lot of airborne bugs floating around.

I sure hope that the wife is off that day, well from work anyhow, so we can go see the birds.

Carah...this is the roughest year I've had in my 25 years of teaching. I have the youngest class ever and the naughtiest. I have spent the last 5 weeks just trying to teach them manners that should have been taught at home and started from birth....LOL

I love my students but it makes me so sad to see the kind of kids that are coming to school without common sense and just having manners to say please and thank you. My grandaughter Jadelyn is in my class this year and I would die if I ever saw her acting the way some of these kids act. I told my assistant that I would like to video my room and let the parents see what they have created. I don't think there would be very many proud parents.

However, we will make progress and hopefully I can instill love for each other and respect for adults and others around them, showing them the way we should act. Gotta love the little bugar pickers....LOL Nothing like reading a story to them and having snack and looking up and seeing one of your little guys eating popcorn with one hand and picking his nose with the other. What can I say...they are talented....multitasking...LOL Love em, love em, love em!!!!!

I really am starting to get excited about the house. It is getting close to the finish of this land problem.

I just want to see some dirt moving to start the pad.

So, how's your house coming?

FOUR Buckeye eggs today! I can't wait for my other four hens to start laying. Then I will really have more eggs than I know what to do with! I'm going to have to take a shot at incubating chicken eggs pretty soon. I've had good luck with quail, but quail eggs hatch if you even put them in the same room with an incubator.
