Good morning all. It is turning out to be a fun day. I need to go into the office and get some work done, but I can't seem to get the energy to take a shower. After Lauren's bout with illness, I think DH and I are getting sick. She went back to school today and is feeling fine. She went to Girl Scouts last night and did alright. Speaking of, would anyone be interested in a magazine subscription? There are over 100 popular magazines. Lauren is selling them to raise money for her Girl Scout troop. She has her first parade this weekend. They will be at the Pumpkin Festival in Cordell. If anyone is interested, PM me and we will discuss it.

Lynn thats funny! I never trapped one under a bucket but I have had everal experiences trying to catch them.
Two buddies and I were hauling hay (the real kind--small bales) back in the day and jumped one hiding under a hay bale. He took off and we chased him across that field for a quarter mile or more before he got into a hole.
I looked back and the truck looked a mile away basking in the 100 plus degree hay desert.
I thought how stupid are we to chase the silly thing so far when it was soooo hot.
I am sure he was thinking the same thing about us!

When my brothers (5) and I were young, our parents told us we could have a chipmunk if we could catch it--which we never could--and of course he knew we couldn't. I told my kids the same thing about armadillos; we lived in New Mexico, and a friend of theirs had a pet baby armadillo. One day, I was out in the middle of a large lake in Texas with my then husband, and there was a female armadillo swimming in the lake. She was quite a long ways from ANY shore, so I told him I wanted to catch her and take her back to shore. He didn't want to, but did anyway (a rare thing for him). I caught her and tied her up--probably couldn't have done it if she hadn't been tired--she was still quite strong--and we took her to shore. I decided I was going to take her home to my kids, but then she coughed. Her cough sounded so "human" like that I just didn't have the heart to take her away from her home. She had apparently recently suckled babies, but I didn't think there was any way she could find them if they still needed her. My kids didn't get their armadillo.

Thanks guys. I'm feeling much better these days. I still have home health coming by everyday to take care of me, but at least I'm home and sleeping in my own bed.

And yes, I'm ready for another get together. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Stimpy ! So glad to see you back on here. Lou has been keeping us posted on your progress.
I praise God for your recovery!
I am sorry I didn't make it to the porch building but I was out of town that weekend.
Would love to here some stories if you are up to sharing any.

Are they selling out?!
But that is good you got them right "from the source", and I think you should get the Mille Fleurs too, if they decide to sell them. They are such pretty birds!
