My little girl talked me into going to the farm supply while killing time waiting on her brother. I am now the proud owner of three little bantams......One little one was getting picked at and had blood on it's foot (feather footed) so I ended up getting it an two more!!!!!!! What am I thinking? I have 21 eggs due to hatch Sat and 2 or 3 dozen comming to put in the bator when they get here!!! I won't have room for anything when POOPs gets here!

Ya'll are killing my diet with the sonic talk!

Afraid would be putting it mildly...more like screaming in panic terror! Hunter...right...no fear to shoot one of those vermin!

Henny - those spiders are way poisonous but the folks in the jungle eat them! They throw the whole thing on a fire and singe the hair off...no I would not try it!

I started coaching before my boys were playing! They would help out as bat boys! I have coached all levels...but not softball. Girls play with the boys here until they start pitching.

Hungry...that would be an understatement again! I have hade two schwan pizza deals since getting home and a bunch of crackers and cashews!

Now to process meat I should have done Monday!

Sooner - there is always room for another dozen chickens! Diets are for quiters!

I have been talking to a few folks here at POOPS headquarters and I just want to tell everyone how excited we are about the large group planning to come to our event. We have around 50 committed to coming now.

The response has been super and we are expecting it to keep growing as the event draws closer.
However, as the response grows so does the responsibility.
We need to make sure we have enough food for everyone. So I am encouraging everyone to keep in mind the size of the group expected as they make their plans to bring their food dishes.
We are planning accordingly with the meat but we do have some backup or if necessary plans ready as our group list grows.
We have discussed how we each may contribute and decided we want to keep this event as low key and as casual as possible.
We decided we did not want to charge a per person fee but we will have a donation jar available for anyone wanting to contribute.
The main idea is to have a enough food on hand but we will probably still have to make some emergency runs for ice and other things as the need arises.
Remember this will be an all day event on Saturday with at least 50 and probably many more people attending.
So everyone please do what you can and what you can do will be enough.
I do want everyone to understand that we want as many of our BYC folks there as possible and we don't want to do anything to scare anyone off.
This is going to be a lot of fun for us all but we want it to be a successful endeavor so that we can do many more events like this in the future.

I am looking forward to seeing those of you I have met and I am especially looking forward to meeting all of you I haven't met.
I want thank all of you guys that are doing so much to see that POOPS will be successful.
Respectfully,
Monty, aka Buckguy

Okay, I need some help here... I am grounded. I am not allowed to go to Atwoods anymore. I seem to have this terrible habit of rescuing just one, 2 or three more little things every time I go there. I just need vitamins or feed but, I go by and there are these little things just sitting in filthy cages saying "Please HELP ME" the water bottles are green and they are so wet the poor things just sit in filth all day.

They got a new shipment in today and the ducks were so cute I needed one but, I know how this would go over, so I resisted and watched as one little crested duck rolled around sick as could be and they had NO water. I sent someone to help and I got it a drink in the rabbit cage. If they are going to sell the animals the least they could do is clean up after them.

Thanks Grace for the book idea. I was thinking of starting a post regarding good reads for newbies. What 3 books would you say are must haves for newbies? I need good, accurate advice and some nice pics would be good too.

YOU guys are great!!! thanks for all of your help.

Sonya- Sorry about your husband. My husband passed 7 stones in the last year and the last one tried to pass for 5 weeks before they realized it was 7mm and would not pass. So after a terrible infection and weeks of drugs they finally did lithotripsy.. WOW as if the stone wasn't enough. It took him 6 weeks to recover. I guess it was the male equiv. to childbirth.

God bless you.. they get so crabby

andisgarden I feel your pain, see my earier post. I can say that our farm supply does keep them clean and with food/water.

Teach I am a quitter, 10 lbs so far!!! I think I have over done it on chickens but country life saves me considering I have plenty of room, just might have to build a couple of pens....hubby's going to love that. heehee.

Anyone got an advice for a feather legs bantam that they have picked on to the point of blood. So far the two that are in with it don't seem to be bothering it but wondering if I should do something else beside cleaning it up.
