Well I guess it was a hawk that got my ee roo. AS I was feeding today a cooper hawk was chasing sparrows around the pens! He wasn't a bit afraid of me. I guess he knows I can't shoot him because of all the close neighbors.Boy I am just counting the days till saat so I can hit the Amish sale again. I don't know why I get so excited, I usually don't buy hardly anything but will stand around and watch it all day!lol.

I guess people will try to sell anything on craigslist,One person is trying to sell hedgeapples!lol

Hello, this is not about the above quote, but I didn't want to go through the pages looking for the one where you said you were looking for a title. I don't know you well (or at all) but I have a suggestion, gauruntee you haven't used it before, and I am plagerizing it from web surfing just now, what I was surfing for had nothing to do w/ this, but this quote caught my attention and then I thought of your recent search Well here it is ............ Perfect balance of strength & beauty. You could use those descriptives or substitute ones of your chosing.

Donnie, since you seem to actually know when to expect the eggs to hatch, it would appear that you do not subscribe to the "Teach method" of hatching where you are repeatedly surprised by the sound of hatching chicks in the incubator, because you forgot to write down the date that they needed to be moved to a hatcher.

when i work with wild bird rescues, if there has been a cat attack the general rule is to get them on an antibiotic immediatly, cats saliva has a bacteria that will kill a wild bird within 24 hours, not sure if that is true for quail, but i think that it would be a good idea to do in the future

I didn't even think of that, and I had antibiotics in the house.

The bad thing is that I couldn't find any wound on the bird, although a puncture from a cat fang wouldn't necessarily be easy to find. The rest of my survivors seem to have survived the first 24 hours and are starting to heal up. I'll be going through tomorrow and seeing how many females I have left. I have one in the hospital pen, but I don't think I'll be finding many more. Oooh, I don't like cats at all right now...

those quail bombs make good skunk bait in the live trap also.

"skunk in a live trap"? I need to work on that one. What do you do with them once they have entered and locked themselves inside said trap?

Tonight as I was watering some chicks out in the shop (brooder area) I walked out the door ... and quickly jumped back inside as a small skunk was standing outside the door waiting for me.

I've done the possum, coon thing with live traps, but never something that makes such and impression as those pretty black and white kittens.

Any suggestions?
