Les,
I will call Marie and see if I can go by the Dept of Ag building and get some. Hopefully, since Oklahoma doesn't allow you to buy it from anywhere but the Dept of Ag, they will have the smaller bottles. The smaller size bottle will last me until it expires so I certainly don't want a larger bottle.

Hi Everyone! Busy day here, back to work on the house. Started putting in insulation today after church. Just now getting in the house & showered, having a late dinner too in front of the computer.

Sorry you lost a bird OKracefan! I hate that when it happens to me.

P&B did you have fun at the conference?

Michael, I guess everyone has the same idea of not wanting to feed as many in the winter. I know that is what I am thinking. I have some that I need to move around & some that just need to go.

Momma hen & babies are doing great. I was able to get the chick under her last night & there hasn't been any trouble that I can tell. I am alittle nervous that as they get bigger she won't be able to keep them all warm.

Wayne great fine on your box, not sure I can picture it but anything recycle is a good thing.

Poco,
I bait the live trap with eggs, to catch possums. If you have some eggs that are rotten, those work even better. Sometimes I save the eggs that didn't develop in the incubator just for use in the live trap. Good luck.

Sooner,
The beekeeper conference was great. Saw a lot of folks that I only see twice a year and the speakers were interesting.

The mama hen should do fine, since as the chicks get larger, they also have more feathers and therefor require less warmth from the mama. Some will snuggle next to her or on her back, and you will be amazed at how many she can brood.

the ones i've seen love eggs- or chicken chow.... so i assume you could try both....

some big canine was hanging around the pens at dawn- not sure if it was coyote or dog- see coyotes in southern california are alot smaller than the okie version- but he had black tipped fur and a bushy tail- will be looking in the morning and see if i can get a photo... everyone is in lockdown at nite so he can't get to them

am treating my cochin girl for gurgles again- she seems to have chronic issues

praying for stimpy!

That is good, I have never had one brood this many. I didn't think they would all hatch!!!! All but 4 hatched!

I'm glad you got to see your friends, I got a card for the bee club this way & hope to make some of the meetings & even take the training once the house is done & I have alittle free time.

I have used powder eggs for years, it will catch every coon, possum, skunk and cat within smelling distance. You just put a little powder on the lever and behind it, and a little in front of the opening and they will go right in. One small bag will last for years, I know the last possum I got, had killed my turkey hen the night before, cat food works great too but nothing works as good a powder eggs.

I think so, the bag I am still using is about 5 years old. I set the trap and the next day I have something. The older it is the better it is. I got 5 coons in 5 nights, not bad for just a tablespoon of powder.

You have found a wonderful group of folks who either live in Oklahoma or wish they lived in Oklahoma. So tell us about the poultry you have or what you would like to acquire. Some of us are extremely helpful in enabling, I mean in "assisting", other folks in acquiring poulty which can lead to a poultry addiction or the poultry auction flu bug.
