You have certainly found the right place to locate chickens within Oklahoma. Some of us have addictions to hatching eggs, attending poultry auctions and otherwise acquireing poultry - and we are always delighted to "assist" others in acquiring poultry by whatever means suits their preference.

Are you looking for chickens that lay a light blue egg (like a true Ameraucana) or hens that lay a green or blue green egg - sometimes called "Easter Eggers" because they lay eggs that are not white or brown - but are sometimes a shade of blue-green, green, or pink - instead of a true light blue outer shell.

I want the true Ameraucana chickens, no bantams, and try to get the ones that only lay blue eggs. I have seen some nice photos of the guy Paul in TX has, I like the built of his roosters. Not the real tall long neck ones, but the short neck thick chest. I would love to find a splash rooster and about 4 hens that has started laying so they know they are laying blue eggs. I am trying to find someone that has been breeding blues not just mixed colors and a few happen to hatch out blue. This is what I get for loving the color that is the hardest to find.

Send a PM to BigOkie. He lives just outside of Nowata. His PC is messed up so he is having to go to the library to get on BYC. I know he has blue Ameraucansa ut not sure if he has adults for sale right now.

Buckguy thanks for letting us know about Stimpy, I will be praying for him, hopefully he won't be in there very long this time.......

I see it didn't get any livelier yesterday! This is killing me, I'm going to have to find somewhere else!

Good Morning Sooner and who ever else is lurking!

I am sitting here wondering why I am up so early (7:30) on the only day of the week that I get to sleep in....

Mike and Al, Was good to see you guys last night.

morning everyone!!

unsettling site this morning, opened the door and a BIG canine, not sure it it was a coyote or dog ran from between the pens- all i saw was a flash up the hill- brown coat with black tipped fur- glad everyone was still locked up- the guineas were carrying on and wouldn't come out of their tree for awhile- gonna doublecheck the fences and all just in case...

morning peaches- i know why you were up early, to enjoy the quiet!

Uh Oh - just what I need - an auction that is close to me that doesn't conflict with my favorite auctions on Saturday nights.

Sure has been quiet on here today. I am just now getting on since before the bee conference and other than Carl trying to get himself

for selling cochins at unbelievably low prices, it looks like it was pretty quiet yesterday also.

Sure sorry to hear that Stimp is back in the hospital. I will try to get by to see him this week if he can have visitors.

I am going back outside and enjoy what is left of this beautiful day. I got the brooder up and going earlier, to accomodate all the chicks that are hatching from eggs purchased at Blanchard from Carla/Gerald and for the guineas that are hatching from the eggs purchased at Newcastle.

I am having difficulty keeping guinea keets alive this year for some reason - even those I purchased that were several weeks old when purchased. I finally turned them all out of the pen they were in, since some died in the bottom of the igloo dog house in there, like they had haystacked and suffocated - but another 8 died while browsing after being allowd to free range from that pen - which makes me wonder if there was something toxic in the pen.

The other poultry eating the same feed but in different locations have not had any problems. Anyway, I still don't have too many guineas - just my original 5 that we began the year with and less than a dozen left out of the 35 I have purchased at auctions and the 10+ that we hatched from our own hens.
