Uh Oh - just what I need - an auction that is close to me that doesn't conflict with my favorite auctions on Saturday nights.
Sure has been quiet on here today. I am just now getting on since before the bee conference and other than Carl trying to get himself
for selling cochins at unbelievably low prices, it looks like it was pretty quiet yesterday also.
Sure sorry to hear that Stimp is back in the hospital. I will try to get by to see him this week if he can have visitors.
I am going back outside and enjoy what is left of this beautiful day. I got the brooder up and going earlier, to accomodate all the chicks that are hatching from eggs purchased at Blanchard from Carla/Gerald and for the guineas that are hatching from the eggs purchased at Newcastle.
I am having difficulty keeping guinea keets alive this year for some reason - even those I purchased that were several weeks old when purchased. I finally turned them all out of the pen they were in, since some died in the bottom of the igloo dog house in there, like they had haystacked and suffocated - but another 8 died while browsing after being allowd to free range from that pen - which makes me wonder if there was something toxic in the pen.
The other poultry eating the same feed but in different locations have not had any problems. Anyway, I still don't have too many guineas - just my original 5 that we began the year with and less than a dozen left out of the 35 I have purchased at auctions and the 10+ that we hatched from our own hens.
