but of course, she falls in love with any kind of chicken at this time....
The new coop has so much room in it, she could have a brooder and all in there.

No worries she will have it filled up before long!!!

She's one of my bigger chickens, so I was having visions of feathers, poo, soap and water all over the place. But she was really docile about the whole thing and I think she reallly loved the being wrapped in a towel and sitting on my knee bit. She was most relaxed and interested in what was going on. And didn't complain once about being toted around like a football

I looked at her backside real well after I got her clean, didn't see any sign of critters at all. Or does Dawn do the same thing for mites it does for fleas? Then I ran around like a mad woman

looking at everybody's butt, glad I don't live close to anyone and that they all work during the daytime...

Artsrobin, I think your and my chickens are competing for most mentally challenged chickens in OK! We after 4 wks mostly got the going and coming in and out of the coop down.......... (seriously 4 wks to learn this simple thing w/ 2 exceptional ones that still are struggling w/ the concept). Then today we put mowed leaves in the coop and run. Well in the run they had a blast, scratching, digging, eating doing the chicken thing.............then tonight they went in the coop (same leaves put in there that they had been playing w/ all day) and you would have thought we put rattle snakes in their coop!!!!!!!!!!!

Thelma and Louise, my two beautiful but stuborn Partridge Cochin hens still insist on roosting on the coop's roof at dusk! Their rooster goes inside to the soft grass lined nesting boxes every night without them. Now the backup Mille Fleur rooster that shares their pen this winter is joining the two girls on the roof. If he thinks the will earn him any favors, forget it, the Partridge roo is still the boss.
