You are lucky MJ! It is really cold this morning, I am making the mad run to get a few more plug thingies so I can get all the water's plugged in........Yep put it off alittle too long.
morning guys!! 16 degrees and the flocks seem fine this morning, the roos are challenging each other- who can crow the loudest- so like MAllen said, they were fine in the cold-
here is a pic i thought gou'd enjoy- our pekin drake... where's the water mom??
Good morning.
Just wanted to butt into your thread and take a minute to tell you all what a wonderful show Oklahoma put on and to tell you that hands down, the people of Oklahoma, as a group, are the nicest, friendliest bunch of folks I've ever come across. Having never been there, I wasn't sure what to expect, but it is absolutely beautiful.
I've travelled a lot, but to a person, every Okie I met was always ready with a smile and a kind word.
Just one request, if I call ahead of time to tell you I'm coming to your wonderful state, would you mind cranking up the thermostat and cranking down the wind?
I'm a weather wimp being from the Southeast part of Texas!
Great job, Oklahoma!

Yikes! We're about to buy a Bosch because that's what our kitchen guy said to get. What model did you have? What didn't you like about it? I guess we need to find another one to get!
We had a great time at the show. Spent the day there Saturday and enjoyed our BYC lunch. We were dead on our feet Saturday night. We got to visit with Monty, Al, Rebecca, Beth, Roy, Donnie, Mary Jo and Jo, Besty, ROPO, Okracefan and nocityboy, and Im sure I am forgetting a few. Going to be a long week this week then hopefully I will get some time to relax and not run everyday once Christmas break starts.

This works GREAT as a bantom brood pen. I designed and built two of them a little over a year ago I guess, so this is the second winter my birds have been in these pens, no worries, they do just fine. Follow this link:
I wanted to do the same and say a Huge THANK YOU! to all the Okies at the show in Shawnee! Great job and a great atmosphere. I'll definitely be making some return visits. My husband and I were there Saturday, we drove up that morning frmo SW Missouri. It was about a five and a half hour drive but we've driven the trip down to Cordell many times to visit family so it didn't seem so long. We arrived about 10 am and had a great time. My husband is in LOVE with those giant Cochins so I'm on the hunt and sjarvis00, your name came up
I'm looking all over and hope to have some hatching eggs by spring. There were loads of birds there and a LOT of them appealed to me. I raise Serama's and Araucana's and got to meet up with online friends there, in person, and it was a real treat and I learned a lot. Junebug was so helpful and the Ludwigs were working their tails off at the Araucana Club table to keep all of our members up to the minute with details and photo's.
It was a windy, cold drive home but well worth all the fun! We spent the night in OK City and shopped a little at Shepplers then dined out with my husbands cousins at the Cattlemen's Restaurant in the Stockyards district spending the night then heading home the next morning.

Thank you very much for the compliments! And you can try to put in the request but our weathermen dont listen to us very well.....LOL
I would love to find that thermostat! (Especially this morning.) When you get in your car and the display says "ICE POSSIBLE DRIVE WITH CARE", you know it is COLD!!!
