Wayne : LOL yeah I was born there and came to the US when I was 2yrs old. I have been back twice, once in 1981 & again in 85, it was really cool touching base with your roots like that. I didn't pay much attention to the chickens they had back then, but the chicks were great

I think it's the Lav gene it's self that messes up a bird's molt. I have always had that problem with my Porcelain d'Uccles, and I was told it was from the Lav gene.

I do not believe that it has anything to do with Lav. especially this year, most of our OE and LF wyandotte and cochins have been molting very slow and odd this year. Some have yet to finish a molt they started over month ago, and some didn't start to molt till the first cold snap. We had some that went through a tail molt more than once it has been quite odd. I have spoke with many others across several states who have the same experience this year.

Are there any Tulsa area BYC'ers that could use a red bantam (I guess) rooster? We are in town and he has got to got.
I will forewarn you that he does not have an off switch....

Since he discovered he can crow a couple of weeks ago he does so frequently. I am so suprised that the police or animal control haven't shown up at my door yet. I have got to find him a home. I could be persuaded to deliver.
