You have found a wonderful group of folks who either live in Oklahoma or wish they lived in Oklahoma

Sounds like you are well on your way to my personal favorite addictions - hatching poultry and acquiring poultry.

You are also located close to my most favorite place to buy chicken feed, since it is grain rather than pellets - Fisher's Mill. I wish it were not so far to go - my chickens love that feed. I just now called Fishers and told them we would be out on Friday to get 1.5 tons of egg layer feed and a ton of rabbit pellets (they make their own egg layer, but will have to get the rabbit pellets from Muskogee.) We haven't been there for about a year, but he knew exactly who I was when I placed the order (aren't y'all the ones who come out from OKC and drive the one ton dually - and your husband goes down to the caboose?) He did tell me that they will be raising the price of their feed after the first of the year - but everyone else has already raised their prices so at $8 for a 50 lb bag, Fisher's Mill is still less expensive than everyone else's layer pellets.

Love the grow out pens - and just what is wrong with the color of paint? I was expecting it to be baby blue or pink after your comment - not barn red.

cant stop. lol i own here but i think im gonna move to the country after the 1st of the year. lol I was looking at some of the coops on here and got some great ideas and thought about making an enclosure that was totally enclosed and had a run on it. Wow i am so glad i found byc. Bobby

Ok I really like the small coop! since you move them all the time how do you keep from loosing them when you move them? What if you need to catch one of the little buggers?

I like the paint! Paint OU on the side & it will be perfect.

I feel like I do the work of 3 sometimes but I keep telling myself that it will be worth it in the end.

P&B I got me some waterproof gloves today! Got them at the electrical supply house of all places!

This year, I have been buying insulated gloves - the kind that are used for electrical work. They are not waterproof except on the palm and fingertips, but are easier to get on and off and I just toss them in the washing machine and let them air dry. They are so much less expensive that I bought half a dozen pairs and when I goof and get them wet, just put on another pair. My expensive thermal/waterproof gloves developed cuts in them from ordinary wear and tear and weren't keeping my hands as dry and warm as I would like

I don't like to be outside if my hands are cold and wet.

I am hoping that these will hold up as they are camo with grip/patch like things on the fingers & palms. I have a hard time keeping my hands warn to start with......I will have to watch my son or he will have them hunting in them!

Sooner - others using your warm gear is one reason I wanted to get purple insulated waterproof boots. Unfortunately, the pair of Bogs that I bought, sight unseen, only have a thin purple line between the sole and upper - they are not girly enough to discourage my 13 year old grandson from borrowing them the first time we have snow.
